In the early months of last year, complaints about Intel’s Raptor Lake processors, including issues like instability and crashing, surfaced on social media. Despite refusing to offer refunds, users were granted warranty extensions instead. After extensive research and testing, Intel identified a problem known as “Vmin shift instability,” which impacts the system’s minimum operating voltage, as the primary culprit. Since June, they have rolled out four separate microcode updates to tackle specific crashing scenarios.

Intel Reveals the Core Ultra 200S CPUs
New motherboards from Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, and Asrock, based on the LGA1851 socket, are set to be launched as part of the Core Ultra 200S series. This lineup will feature two distinct models: the Core Ultra 9 285K and the Core Ultra 245K (and its variant, the 245KF). The former boasts a total of 24 cores (8 Performance-Cores and 16 Efficiency-Cores), capable of reaching boost clock speeds of up to 5.7 GHz. On the other hand, the Core Ultra 245K and 245KF models sport 14 cores (6 Performance-Cores and 8 Efficiency-Cores) that can be pushed to 5.2 GHz when boosted. Intel has emphasized power efficiency in the design of the Core Ultra 200S series, as they have announced that these new CPUs will consume less power compared to the 14th Generation Raptor Lake CPUs.
