As a seasoned adventurer who’s faced many fantastical foes in the grand realm of ReFantazio, I can’t help but share my excitement about this strategic approach to defeating Kokasadors. The synergy between our Gunner’s Tetrabreak, the Wizard’s Fire magic, and the Masked Dancer’s versatility is a recipe for success that even my old Granny could appreciate (and she’s been through some battles herself!).

It’s quite possible that you’ve come across or even used the statement yourself: “ReFantazio” in metaphorical terms can be seen as the epic fantasy counterpart of the “Persona” series. In essence, such a comparison isn’t off base.

Even so, Metaphor: ReFantazio has its own unique lore and has managed to build an identity without relying on its older cousin.

Yet, just because it strays from its origins doesn’t imply that the Metaphor entirely cuts ties with them. The Archetype in The Masked Dancer carries a unique trait, honoring its roots in Persona, yet proving itself to be an effective weapon on the battlefield as well.

This Character type is capable of wearing masks as additional items, and based on the persona it adopts, its skills alter, displaying a flexibility much like the main characters from the series ‘Persona‘ do.

Prerequisites For Unlocking the Masked Dancer Archetype

How to Unlock the Masked Dancer Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio

In contrast to other main characters in the past, The Masked Dancer is not instantly available when you play as Junah. Instead, unlike before, this character must be intentionally unlocked, meaning players who don’t know about this feature might complete the entire game without accessing it, as it remains tied to the songstress.

To prevent a similar situation from occurring for you, let us guide you through the process of unveiling the Masked Dancer Character, and you’ll find that it’s more straightforward than you might imagine.

Upon setting foot on Virga Island, your initial goal is to make your way to the Dragon Temple. But alas, upon entering this hallowed ground, you’ll find yourself barred from further entry. You’ll then need to retrace your steps back to Mustari village.

Once you come back, multiple tasks will be at your disposal, however, not the one we’re specifically seeking. Initially, you must concoct the Potion of Blight.

As a gamer, I need to grab the elixir essential from Grand Trad’s store. Once obtained, I should bring the Parchment Water to Edeni. In case I can’t locate this crucial item, it would be wise to chat with the informants prior.

After passing the ingredient to Edeni, he’ll then pass on the Potion of Blight to you. As the scene concludes, a fresh quest symbol will emerge close to the village leader, sprouting up from the familiar figure of Junah.

Approach Junah, and she’ll provide you with the mission titled “Save the Mourning Snakes.” This task leads you along the Orbwise Path where you must vanquish a creature.

Our main goal in Metaphor: ReFantazio is to optimize your days, so before heading to the Orbwise Path, we recommend grabbing the Peak Curiosity quest from the Dejected Man just outside Virga Island’s inn.

Next, engage the informant at the Golden Deer Hearth and purchase the Ghostly Bird from the Spire. The Spire of Blind Faith will become visible on your map, and the Orbwise Path will be located midway on the route to the tower.

By tackling both quests at once, you could potentially finish them within a relatively short span of time, thus optimizing your journey before reaching the challenging Dragon Temple, which is often compared to the labyrinthine dungeons crafted by ReFantazio.

How to Prepare for the Orbwise Path

With your travel plan now finalized, let’s discuss what items you should bring along to make your trip run as seamlessly as possible.

Truthfully, Orbwise Path is among the less challenging dungeons during this phase of the game. If you’ve been wrapping up all the side quests, it’s likely that you’ll find yourself engaging enemies across the map in combat mode.

Essentially, navigation is mostly about moving along straight paths, interspersed with small hidden areas to explore. Generally speaking, it involves a lengthy progression, punctuated by occasional flights of stairs.

If you’re looking for a simpler approach, consider bringing in characters that specialize in fire magic and piercing abilities. Both Gunner lineage characters and the adaptable Mage Archetype, along with the enigmatic Masked Dancer, are highly effective in their roles.

If you successfully create a Gunner’s Mask and put it on Junah using the Masked Dancer playstyle, she’ll transform into an unstoppable solo performer in the dungeon, leaving chaos in her wake.

In our narrative, we transformed the main character into a Sniper, making exploration more straightforward because numerous enemies remain static, enabling us to take them down safely from afar.

Additionally, you may encounter colossal, snake-like creatures called Valmos that dwell beneath the earth. Unlike sneaky predators, they are rather conspicuous, making it relatively simple to evade their attacks and launch a preemptive strike instead.

It’s best not to use physical attacks against certain vegetation-based creatures as they are resistant or immune to such attacks. Instead, try using a different type of attack, like water or wind, to defeat the Terrestrial Shuper plant monster.

If you experience frostbite, your ability to deal damage in attacks will significantly decrease. However, it’s more of an inconvenience as you can simply skip your turn and heal on your own over time.

In Orbwise Path, it’s crucial to note that Junah must always join you during the boss battle against the giant chicken, so make sure to save her Magic Points (MP) before encountering this fowl foe.

How To Prepare for the Kokasadors Boss Fight

Regarding the upcoming boss battle, you’ll often find the Kokasadors close to the safety checkpoint, following a common pattern seen in all dungeons within the game ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’.

The offensive strategy to take down this oversized bird is similar to the rest of the dungeon. Kokasadors is weak to Pierce and fire skills.

For optimal strategy, consider seating your whole group in the rear positions. This setup won’t hinder the damage output if you have Gunners and spellcasters among you, and it will provide an additional layer of defense instead.

At present in the game, you don’t strictly require a particular Archetype since you’ve accumulated enough abilities up to this stage. However, if I were to propose an optimal combination, here it is:

  • A character with a max-level Seeker to inherit Tetrabreak. The boss will eventually use magic to repel physical attacks, and Tetrabreak nullifies this. Our protagonist, as a Gunner, inherited the skill.
  • A Wizard Archetype to cast medium Fire magic or the Synthesis Boatona for heavy damage with the Masked Dancer as the pair.
  • A Masked Dancer equipped with the Gunner’s Mask to cover all the boss’s weaknesses and assist the Wizard.
  • The fourth Archetype is up to you. Bring a healer if you’re losing HP fast or a Knight to attract the boss’s attention.
  • We had a Summoner Archetype because we finished the Dragon Temple before Orbwise Path. It’s due to this taxing empirical experience that we suggest doing this dungeon before the challenging Dragon Temple.

Similar to numerous managers in the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio“, your strategy will primarily revolve around identifying and attacking its vulnerabilities, securing additional turns, and maintaining an aggressive approach.

As a gamer, I find that buffs and debuffs aren’t always game-changers, but when it comes to mastering the art of Tetrabreak, they become essential. On the other hand, if my strategy is solely centered around honing my Fire magic skills, I can afford to overlook the Repel Physical aspect.

Kokasadors can pack a punch, but if you manage to strike back with greater force, it likely won’t be able to counterattack before it’s subdued.

Rewards For Defeating Kokasadors

After successfully capturing that oversized avian creature, you’ll gain valuable experience, MAG, and financial rewards. The loot is unpredictable, yet there’s a chance to obtain the Tower White Mask, which can help you create additional dance accessories in the Masquerade Dance.

Once the fight concludes, I’ll find myself in a heartfelt scene with Junah, marking the successful completion of the “Save the Mourning Snakes” mission. As a token of appreciation, my Imagination virtue will be enhanced with 4 additional points.

After a short chat, you’ll forge a fresh bond with Junah, making her an official ally or follower.

As a gamer, let me share some exciting news! Unveiling this fresh Bond grants us all access to the elusive Masked Dancer Archetype straight away in our game world. Can’t wait to see it in action!

How to Unlock the Masked Dancer Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio

In the game “Metaphor: ReFantazie”, The Masked Dancer is the most adaptable Character Archetype. Yet, this versatility means it forgoes an equipment slot, and in certain situations, that missing slot could be worth more than any additional abilities it might have had.

Regardless, the character’s innate talents and Synthesis abilities can effectively expose an enemy’s vulnerabilities, proving useful against certain challenging final bosses.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say, what truly rocks about The Masked Dancer is its subtle nod to the world of Persona. From the cryptic references to the Arcana in their crafting items, to the intricate design of the masks themselves, it’s like they’re whispering secrets straight from that captivating universe!

With your newfound ability to unveil the Masked Dancer Archetype in “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, it’s now time for you to embrace the role of an enigmatic joker and prepare to win over your opponents with charm.
