How to begin the fight
In essence, there are two primary methods that the game advises against when confronting the dragon. First, you should try to avoid blundering in the stealth areas surrounding it, which might lead to encounters with lesser enemies. Such an encounter could potentially awaken the sleeping dragon, thereby triggering a battle.
A bolder strategy might involve confronting the issue head-on and tackling it straight away. However, your companions may react negatively, but the genuine battle will undoubtedly commence then.
The Dragon’s moves to watch out for
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some crucial insights about the formidable combatant known as Fire Dragon Mauna. Here are some moves you should always keep an eye on during the battle:
- Scratch – A melee attack with a claw on one of your party
- Fireball – Breaths a fire attack at one of your party
- Tail Swipe – A melee attack with their tail that attacks all members on a given row.

In the upcoming battle, there are several factors to take into account. Initially, let’s imagine that your team consists of a Seeker, Warrior, and Mage. With this in mind, the advice we provide will be tailored to this party composition.
Initially, let’s identify our vulnerabilities before delving into the Dragon’s abilities. The Dragon can either unleash Slash or Fire attacks. Importantly, Seekers are susceptible to Fire, which means if the Dragon uses a Fire attack successfully, it gains an extra turn. It might be strategic to utilize a Seeker’s final move to block the Fire attack, especially when it’s not needed for other tasks, as this will prevent the Weakness hit from occurring.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share a strategic tip: The Dragon seems to have a natural vulnerability towards Ice attacks (which makes sense given its fiery nature). So, when engaging with this formidable foe, consider casting Blizzard spells. This tactic guarantees a Weakness hit each time, giving you an advantage in both damage and turns. Remember, it’s crucial to manage your Mage’s Mana Points (MP) carefully during the battle. Don’t hesitate to use Magla Pills, which you’ve collected specifically for this encounter, to help maintain your Mage’s strength.
Overall the following advice should be followed:
- Always attack with your Mage with Blizz whenever you can.
- Your Mage and Seeker should be on the Back Row. You could also put your Warrior there, to conserve the damage they take, but this will mean the Dragon’s Tail Swipe move will hit everyone, rather than just the Warrior. See how the fight is going and change depending on the character’s health.
- The Seeker should be on healing duty on its first turn every round, casting Dei if needed or using a healing item. They can also use Magla Pills on Mage if they run low on MP. If the fight is going well and you have the option, Cyc will do good damage to the Dragon, and Tarukaja (if you have unlocked it) can be used on the Mage to bolster their damage.
- On the Seeker’s final move – unless it is critical to heal – they should block to avoid being hit with a Weakness fire attack.
- Your Warrior should support with chipping away with damage either through basic attacks or using Diagonal Slash. They can also help with item use to support other characters.
The reward for beating the Dragon
After finally taking down the Dragon, you will be rewarded with:
- 263 EXP
- 210 A-EXP
- 1000 MAG
- 1000 Cash
Additionally, you’ll receive an Amethyst, a valuable gemstone that can be exchanged for 3000 Cash once you find a vendor.
However, our primary purpose is to retrieve the objects that the dragon has been safeguarding. Among the items you’ll find, there are three distinctly blue ones that you can collect. These are:
- Grand Iron
- Glossy Fur
- Onyx
These are all sellable items, which will sell for a total of 2255 Cash at a vendor.
