Okay, so in ARC Raiders, these alien robots called ARCs are seriously tough to take down. But we’ve figured out that by scavenging parts from them, we can actually build stuff to fight back! It’s like, using their own weapons against them – pretty cool, right?
Taking down the toughest enemies in the game, The Queen and The Matriarch, requires serious firepower. Forget basic gear – you’ll need powerful weapons that can pierce armor, plenty of ammunition, and lots of explosives. However, finding the materials to craft all of this isn’t easy.
This guide will show you where to locate ARC Motion Cores, which are essential for crafting powerful items like magnetic accelerators, launcher ammunition, and wolfpacks.
Bastion & Bombardier
These slow-moving ARCs aren’t quick, but they’ll relentlessly pursue you once they’ve targeted you, leaving you very little time to react. If you shoot their yellow leg joints, you can eventually stun them briefly, giving you a safe window to attack.
You’ll find strong defensive positions and enemies who attack with bombs on almost any map. When you defeat them, they’ll drop lots of valuable items to search through, especially ARC motion cores. I suggest checking out the Buried City map or Dam Battlegrounds for good results.
Rocketeer & Leaper
These two enemies, the Rocketeer and the Leaper, can cross long distances very quickly and easily defeat Raiders who are exposed. The key to beating them is good positioning – find a building to gain a high vantage point and attack them while safely behind cover.
When fighting the Rocketeer, target one of its thrusters at a time. Destroying a thruster will cause it to become unstable and potentially crash. You can also use Showstopper grenades to temporarily disable it and force a landing.
Okay, so I’ve learned that fighting Leapers indoors is totally manageable! The trick is to aim for their big red eye – that’s their main body. And if you really want to take them down fast, explosives are the way to go. I’ve been heading to The Dam Battlegrounds to find them, and it’s a great spot! Plus, when you defeat them there, you get a bunch of ARC motion cores from the wreckage, which is awesome.
Queen & Matriarch
If you’re willing to risk it, the best place to find a lot of ARC motion cores is by scavenging the wreckage of the Queen and the Matriarch.
You don’t need to completely destroy these enemies to get useful items. When you damage them enough, their leg armor breaks off, dropping valuable resources. These leg pieces often contain powerful ARC motion cores and even legendary reactors.
After the legs break off, you can use smoke grenades to safely collect the dropped items without getting exploded or crushed.
Baron & Rocketeer Husks
The desert is scattered with the remains of wrecked ARC vehicles, partially buried in the sand—a sign of how tough raiders are. These crash sites, called husks, are still useful places to scavenge for materials, and often hold valuable ARC motion cores.
During the Husk Graveyard event, the map will be filled with electrified husks. This is a fantastic chance to collect lots of ARC Motion Cores.
Probes & Couriers
You can also easily find ARC motion cores by searching crashed probes and couriers – these appear on all maps except Stella Montis.
The object falling from the sky can be broken open and contains three compartments to search. These compartments may yield valuable items like ARC motion cores, ARC circuitry, alloy, and power cells.

Couriers often carry valuable ARC motion cores, but they can also contain other useful items like surge shield rechargers, surveyor vaults, and sentinel firing cores.
Surveyor
Surveyors are packed with valuable ARC motion cores, but they’re difficult to acquire. These units are highly maneuverable and heavily armored, making them challenging targets.
I love farming for Surveyors near the Grandioso Apartments in the Buried City. That’s where I found the one in the picture. If you leave a Surveyor alone for a while, it’ll eventually stop moving, open its armor, and shoot a bright blue laser beam into the air – you can see it from quite a distance!
This is a good method for finding them, and hitting them with explosives when their core is vulnerable will cause significant damage. Showstopper grenades are also effective at preventing them from escaping.
ARC motion cores can also be crafted using a level two refinery.
