The upcoming Steam game, Everbloom, feels similar to popular titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, but it’s also creating its own unique experience. While many indie farming games try to copy the success of those hits, Everbloom feels fresh and original.
Torbie, a game developer, is launching its debut title, Everbloom, on Valve’s platform. The studio has been working on the game for almost three years, regularly sharing updates with fans. They want to highlight that Everbloom‘s world was built entirely by hand, with no use of artificial intelligence.
Everbloom Features at a Glance
- CRAFT a wide range of objects
- FARM different crops
- BREED animals
- EXPLORE dungeons
- INVITE up to three players to join you (4-player co-op)
- DATE villagers
- FISH and cook
- CUSTOMIZE the farm
- UNLOCK new pieces of furniture and decorations
Animal Crossing Vibes Are Undeniable in Everbloom
Fans who enjoy games like Animal Crossing will likely fall in love with Everbloom. The game lets you play as a cute animal character, choosing from different types and customizing its appearance. Its charming, colorful style is similar to both Animal Crossing and Dinkum.
The game features a nearby town where players can hang out and get to know animal characters. Surprisingly, even though players are animals themselves, they can still raise and breed farm animals like cows and pigs. What’s really cool is that these animals in Everbloom are said to have unique personalities that they can pass on to their babies. While we don’t know exactly how it works yet, fans of relaxing farming games will probably be very excited to check it out.
Everbloom Gameplay Takes the Best of Stardew Valley
Image via Torbie As a huge fan of cozy games, I’d say Everbloom definitely catches your eye with a charming look that reminds me of Animal Crossing and Dinkum. But once you start playing, it really feels like Stardew Valley – you’re spending your time crafting, farming, gathering things, and even doing a little bit of dungeon exploration to get ahead. You build up your farm, take care of animals, and enjoy those relaxing side activities like fishing and cooking. There’s even a dating system, just like in Stardew, where you can try to build relationships with the townspeople. Be warned, though, not everyone will be interested! But if you do manage to win someone over, you’ll unlock special stories and learn secrets that are unique to each character – it’s a really rewarding system.
Everbloom features a cave system under the city that players can explore by solving puzzles and mining. These caves are different from the dungeons in Stardew Valley because they don’t involve any fighting. Instead, players focus on unlocking new areas of the caves and learning more about the game’s story as they go.
When Whimsical Meets Absurd
One of the best things about Everbloom is its fun and playful sense of humor, which is actually built into the game. You can do things like grow popcorn as a crop or get chocolate milk by giving your cows candy bars! These unexpected and charming details will definitely make the game memorable. With so many similar games available, players will appreciate Everbloom‘s creativity and imagination.

Torbie’s relaxing simulation game has been selected for Epic Games’ “Epic MegaGrants” program, which supports promising indie games. This means Epic Games recognizes the game’s potential and has probably provided funding to help it develop.
The program is a good sign for fans, suggesting the project has a strong start. Receiving support from Epic indicates the developers have demonstrated a compelling idea and seem well-equipped to create a quality game.

There’s no release date for Everbloom yet, but you can add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified when it comes out. If you’re looking for a similar game to play now, Starsand Island will be available in early access on February 11th. It’s another promising game that combines elements of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing.
