Okay, so the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase totally blew my mind! They revealed this new Switch 2 exclusive horror game called Tokyo Scramble, and honestly, it’s giving me major Dino Crisis flashbacks – but with a really cool gameplay spin. You’re dropped into the underground depths of Tokyo, and it’s all about stealth, planning, and just trying to survive. It’s launching on February 11th, which is pretty soon! There’s a lot of horror games coming out right now, like Resident Evil Requiem, but Tokyo Scramble looks like it’s going to be something different. It’s got that familiar horror story vibe, but the gameplay seems really unique – a cool mix of things I haven’t seen before, even with all the big-budget and indie horror games out there.

I’ve always loved how survival and horror games often go hand-in-hand, even if they aren’t always the same thing. That’s why survival horror feels so special! In Tokyo Scramble, you play as Anne, a high school student who must survive in the underground of Tokyo while being hunted by dinosaur-like creatures called Zino. The game combines puzzle-solving with action as you guide Anne stealthily, avoiding the Zino who are trying to catch her. Anne can’t fight directly, so you’ll need to use your wits and the environment to survive. This means using tools, construction equipment, and even things like escalators to keep the monsters away and overcome dangers. Staying alive requires quick thinking and smart decisions – you’ll need to learn the Zino’s patterns and plan your escapes carefully. You can set traps or use the environment to ensnare them. Tokyo Scramble draws inspiration from games like Dino Crisis but offers a fresh and unique experience.

One of the most exciting features in Tokyo Scramble is its unique multiplayer mode on the Nintendo Switch 2, using the GameShare function. It lets up to four players each control a different aspect of the character Anne – one player moves her, another chooses her actions, a third manages her gadgets, and the fourth controls the camera. This local and online co-op mode offers a fresh gameplay experience, making Tokyo Scramble stand out from other horror games.
