The Shoreside Shrine is a key location in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, and many players are trying to figure out how to remove the rock blocking the way. If you’re new to the game or its story, it can be a little tricky, but there is a way to clear the path.
This guide explains how to move the Shoreside Shrine Rock in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined and how it ties into the game’s story.
How to Move The Rock in Shoreside Shrine in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

Some new players in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined get stuck on a rock at Shoreside Shrine, but it’s not meant to be moved. You can’t push it, no matter how hard you try – it’s a fixed obstacle!
The game hints that the object is a very heavy stone, requiring multiple strong people to lift it. If you’re stuck, the next section contains the solution.
Just a heads-up: from here on out, this discussion will contain spoilers for the main story of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. Be warned!
The story advances, and players learn how to move the rock, once they’ve collected all three Yellow Stone Tablets in Estrad and activated the Shrine of Mysteries.
Okay, so I figured out how to move that big rock! You need to finish up the questline after you and Kiefer get back from Ballymolloy. Once you report back to the King of Estrad, Kiefer gets put on house arrest, which is a bummer. Then, Maribel asks me to do her a favor and escort her all the way back to Pilchard Bay. It seems like a lot of running around, but hey, that’s the game, right?
Following a short introductory movie, players must first speak with their parents. The next day, they’ll meet up with Maribel, who returns to the group. Together, they’ll attempt to move a large rock, but won’t be able to do it.
After leaving the Shoreside Shrine cave, players need to find Kiefer, who will then join their team. Once Kiefer is with them, they can return to the cave and move the rock.
Now that’s done, head down to the hidden cove to reactivate the Ship and travel to Ballymolloy in the present. This will be the final time you need to move the rock at Shoreside Shrine, as the Ship will stay wherever you leave it from now on.
If players accidentally teleport to a location where they can’t reach their Ship, they can use the Zoom (Fast Travel) feature to quickly return to the closest accessible point and then go back to retrieve it.
