How to Solve the Pit of Silence Mirror Puzzle in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

The Pit of Silence Mirror Puzzle in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is notoriously difficult. Players must solve it to rescue High Priestess Jacqueline and gain access to all character classes.

To release her from her cage, players must destroy two control orbs with a laser beam. This laser appears from the wall and can be steered using mirrors to bounce the light where it needs to go. If you’re stuck and want a quick answer to this puzzle, the solution is provided below!

Pit of Silence First Mirror Puzzle Solution (Left Side)

The first mirror puzzle in the Pit of Silence is straightforward. Players need to position the mirrors exactly as shown in the images to bounce the laser beam off their surfaces and towards the orb.

After the first orb is destroyed, the next challenge begins: shattering the orb on the right. This involves carefully adjusting mirrors on both sides of the room.

Notice the two holes in the wall: one is high up, close to the glowing spheres, and the other is near the floor. These openings are important and will help you figure out the next step.

Pit of Silence Second Mirror Puzzle Solution (Right Side)

The second puzzle requires using mirrors from both sides of the room. Trying to solve it with only the right-side mirrors won’t work because the correct angle can’t be achieved.

Begin by positioning the mirrors to guide the laser beam, making it bounce and pass through the closest hole in the wall – the one near where the laser starts at the bottom of the room. Adjust the mirrors so the laser enters the room from the left, as illustrated in the images.

Next, adjust the mirrors in the left room so the light shines upwards and hits the second hole in the wall – the one nearer the orbs, as you can see in the images.

Players can restart the puzzle by pressing the R key on a PC, the Triangle button on a PlayStation 6, or the Y button on Xbox or Nintendo Switch/Switch 2.

The laser will then reflect off the final mirror on the right, destroying the orb. Once that’s done, the electric cage holding High Priestess Jacqueline will disappear, allowing players to regain their abilities and confront the Impostor to finish their Quest.
