Metaphor: ReFantazio - How to Defeat Zorba

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Metaphor: ReFantazio is shaping up to be an epic journey full of challenges and intrigue. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from countless hours spent battling bosses, it’s that they all have their unique strategies and quirks. Zorba the necromancer, for instance, is no exception.

In the imaginative realm of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the stage is set for a grand saga. Here, players will find themselves right in the midst of events that will determine the destiny of this world. Yet, embarking on this adventure won’t be without challenges, as numerous forces are competing to influence the outcome. Consequently, expect to encounter significant resistance, and more often than not, this will take the form of combat.

As a dedicated gamer myself, I can tell you that it’s not just the foot soldiers you’ll have to keep an eye on. Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter formidable bosses at every turn. One of the earliest challenges you’ll face is none other than the necromancer, Zorba, who has some seriously sinister plans brewing. This guide is specifically designed for those who might need a helping hand in defeating this fiend.

How To Beat Zorba In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The pursuit of Zorbo leads players into the towering Grand Regalith Cathedral, where they’ll attempt to ascend to the summit in the game known as ReFantazio. This is no walk in the park, and the game will give you fair warning before you reach the final area, allowing you to opt for a break if needed, and return when you’re more prepared. If your health (HP) or magic points (MP) are running low, it’s advisable to take that break.

After you’ve reached peak health and readiness, it’s time to consider the composition of your party and the roles assigned to each character. A good setup would include a character with healing or magical abilities, such as a Healer or Mage, a damage-dealing character like a Warrior or Brawler, and a Knight who can absorb damage. Hulkenberg remains unchanged, and it’s up to you to decide what roles the protagonist and Strohl will take on. If you choose the Mage, remember to acquire the Medi healing skill from the Healer if possible.

Combat Strategy

Dealing with Zorbo can prove challenging since he has the ability to inflict significant damage and summon undead minions for additional trouble. To succeed, it’s crucial that you keep a clear head and aim most of your attacks at him, rather than getting sidetracked by his summons.

At the beginning of your round, employ your strongest Synthesis attack ability, like Energy Ray, against Zorba. With only one more Turn Indicator remaining, it’s expected that it will be Hulkenberg’s turn next. Take advantage of this by attacking with her weapon or a skill. Zorba will summon a Corpsethrall on his following turn, which will spend the subsequent round preparing to attack.

After that, don’t forget to declare Knight’s Proclamation to divert attention from Zorba’s expanding group, and keep using your Synthesis attack mainly on the necromancer if you have enough MP. The enemy will attempt to unsettle your party by either casting an Electric spell or causing their Corpsethralls to become enraged and boost their attacks, but they aren’t very effective. Whenever any of your team members get dangerously low on health, use the healing skill to restore them to full health. By concentrating all your efforts on Zorba, you can shorten the battle duration significantly and bring it to an end as swiftly as possible.
