New Escape from Tarkov Event Wants You To Hunt At Night

As a seasoned Tarkov survivor with more scars than I can count, I must say that the latest Night of the Cult event has sent shivers down my spine. The darkness that envelopes the maps at night is no laughing matter, and the hooded Cultists lurking in the shadows are a nightmare even for the most hardened players.

Playing Escape from Tarkov is already difficult, but when you venture out at night, it transforms into a completely new experience. Instead of just dodging gunfire everywhere, you must now confront the oppressive darkness that blankets the map. You rely on moonlight or a torch’s glimmer to navigate through the pitch-black environment.

Supporters of a daytime raid will likely dislike the latest Tarkov event due to its requirement for night-time hunting, yet the prizes are exceptionally enticing.

Night of the Cult in Tarkov

Over the past couple of months, several missions have emerged, centering around the Cultists who haunt specific maps under cover of darkness. The current mission also follows this theme.

In “Night of the Cult,” players are tasked with eradicating five individuals disguised as ‘night figures’ or Cultists. These elusive characters can be spotted in nearly every level.

  • Lighthouse
  • Streets of Tarkov
  • Night Factory (anywhere)
  • Customs (ZB-013 extraction)
  • Woods (near ritual sites)
  • Shoreline (near Swamp Village and at the resort)
  • Ground Zero (anywhere)

If you’re able to successfully eliminate five hooded Cultists, you’ll get one hell of a reward:

  • Dorm Room 314 Marked Key (5 mil value)
  • Cult Locust Ballistic Plate
  • Cult Termite Ballistic Plate
  • L3Harris GPNVG-18 NVG
  • 12,500 EXP
  • 50,000 roubles

To effectively take down Cultists in Tarkov, it’s crucial to exercise caution at all times. These swift enemies often prefer to surprise players in ambushes, making their footsteps hard to detect. This means they can approach quickly and unexpectedly. Additionally, they are immune to thermal devices and possess substantial health reserves.

They have access to an array of weapons including 7.62 assault rifles, sniper rifles (DMRs), and handguns. However, they usually prefer to approach you for a melee attack using a coated blade that’s laced with poison.

Currently, the optimal locations for farming Cultists in Tarkov are Streets of Tarkov and Ground Zero (LL21 exclusively). On these specific maps, there’s approximately a 60% probability that Cultists will appear, while they have a 20% chance to spawn elsewhere.

Take note – the Halloween-themed Tarkov event is only getting started, with two more substantial missions coming up next. In order to fully accomplish this series of tasks, you’ll be required to eliminate a total of 105 cult members.
