As a seasoned Escape from Tarkov player with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that The Graven Image is one heck of a thrilling quest! The adrenaline rush you get when taking down those boss characters under the cover of darkness is unmatched.
The Carved Idol is a fresh Halloween-themed mission introduced in Escape from Tarkov as a temporary event. It’s the central mission among three in sequence, and it calls for defeating some particularly fierce adversaries to complete it successfully. In this walkthrough, we will explain how to finish The Carved Idol efficiently and with minimal trouble.
Tricks To Complete The Graven Image
The Graven Image mission presents a challenging task: You must eliminate three freshly-introduced boss characters that appear exclusively during the night in an area where additional bosses may also show up. In the most difficult situations, you might end up battling these three bosses, along with Cultists, Reshala, and The Goons.
Can you imagine that nightmare? Imagine the sheer XP from that raid if you were to be successful.
To finish off “The Graven Image”, make your way to Customs after dark and dart towards the industrial district encompassing Crackhouse, Stronghold, and the rear of Old Gas. The three main characters serve as bosses in this area, but they usually appear near the bus depot next to Crack and beside the container behind Old Gas.
The three bosses are Oni, Harbinger, and Ghost, and they’re pretty tooled up.
In this scenario, Oni is modeled after a Cultist character and prefers quick, nimble weaponry, whereas Harbinger carries an LMG and heavy armor. Joining them is Ghost, who appears to be a typical operator with exceptional accuracy using an automatic rifle.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d strongly advise staying at a safe distance when engaging these adversaries. If you find yourself wanting a sneak peek, do it from a secure vantage point – the top windows of the warehouse overlooking Old Gas’ backside is an excellent choice. That’s where the ZB-13 switch is located. From this advantageous spot, you can cautiously peek and survey the area, potentially catching one of their respawns at a good angle.
If all else fails, think about heading towards ‘Skeleton’, the structure adjacent to Construction that offers a view over Stronghold as an alternative. In dire circumstances, it might be worth considering taking cover in Crackhouse, albeit it’s not the most ideal place, hiding behind one of its windows.
