As a longtime fan of the Yakuza series who’s been through Kiryu’s epic journey from the very beginning, this news is music to my ears! The collaboration between Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Limited Run Games is like a dream come true for us old-school fans.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Limited Run Games have teamed up for seven new physical editions in the popular Yakuza series. The partnership kicks off with exclusive collector’s versions of Yakuza 0 and Kiwami, which are now available for pre-order. Additionally, Limited Run Games has confirmed that subsequent mainline Yakuza games will also be released physically, offering a special bonus to those who choose to pre-order early.

Over the past five years, the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has gained significant popularity. Initially popular in Japan, the 2017 launch of Yakuza 0 expanded its fan base significantly in the West. Since then, most mainline games have been localized for Western audiences. Even eight years after its original release on PlayStation 3 and 4, Yakuza Kiwami is coming to Nintendo Switch. Interestingly, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has been releasing physical editions of all their post-Yakuza: Like a Dragon games across all platforms. However, most mainline games are only available physically for the PS4. In collaboration with Limited Run, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is now offering new physical versions for these older titles.

On its official site and social media platforms, Limited Run Games announced the launch of new high-end physical editions. These new versions kick off with _Yakuza 0_ and _Kiwami_, two games that are excellent starting points in the series. Limited Run has unveiled both Standard and Classic Editions for these titles, along with a pre-order period from October 11 to November 10, 2024. The Standard Edition includes a boxed copy of the game, priced approximately $35 USD, while the Classic Edition boasts several additional features.

In addition to the game, the Classic Edition of “Yakuza 0” includes a CD soundtrack set, acrylic standee cards, and keychains. Pre-orders for both Xbox and PS4 versions of “Yakuza 0” come with a special 7-game slipcase that allows fans to store all their Kiryu Saga games in one large casebook. The Classic Edition retails at $75 USD, but the release dates for “Yakuza Kiwami 2”, “Yakuza 3 Remastered”, “Yakuza 4 Remastered”, “Yakuza 5 Remastered”, and the new physical versions of “Yakuza 6” have yet to be announced.
