How to Shake off Brainwashing in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO (No Choice in Vegeta's Wicked Heart)

As a long-time Dragon Ball fan, I’ve seen my fair share of battles, timelines, and transformations. But when it comes to the latest addition to Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO – Vegeta’s Wicked Heart, it’s a breath of fresh air that sends shockwaves through the Dragon Ball universe.

In the Battle mode of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, players can reenact iconic scenes from the famous Dragon Ball anime and manga series, experiencing them from various viewpoints. Occasionally, they’ll even get a chance to deviate from the standard Dragon Ball chronology, such as in the storyline “Vegeta’s Wicked Heart”.

Instead of yielding to Babidi’s mind control, I, as a player, will have the chance to break free from the brainwashing, leading to an unprecedented alternate scenario unfolding. But, to access this intriguing “what-if?” scenario in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, I must first accomplish a secret mission hidden within one of the episodes that precedes Vegeta’s Wicked Heart.

How to Shake off Brainwashing in Vegeta’s Wicked Heart

Players must finish the “Preparing for the World Tournament” episode on normal mode, sustaining as little damage as possible, in order to unshackle Vegeta’s corrupted mind in the game “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO”. Unlike other side objectives within this game, this specific task isn’t clearly indicated on the episode selection screen. The symbol next to most other episodes with secondary objectives is a green crossroads, but not for “Preparing for the World Tournament”.

The best strategy for beating Trunks quickly while taking minimal damage is to keep one’s distance. Players should start the episode with a throw or smash combo to give them time to charge ki and Spaking Mode. From here, they should hit Trunks with a barrage of ki blasts and then use Cosmic Circle just as Sparking Mode is about to end. If done correctly, Vegeta will bring the training to an end and the pair will share a brief moment in base form. After that, players will have the option to shake off the brainwashing in Vegeta’s Wicked Heart.

Vegeta’s Number One Spot Sparking Episode

If players decide to break free from Babidi’s control, it sets off Vegeta’s “Number One Spot Sparking Episode”. In this scenario, Vegeta doesn’t transform into Majin Vegeta. Instead, he defeats Dabura and Babidi, preventing Majin Bu from awakening. Afterwards, Vegeta battles Goku at the World Tournament. By completing this sequence of events, players unlock the “Number One Spot Trophy/Achievement” and gain access to the playable character, Goku (GT), who has his base form, Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan 3 form, and Super Saiyan 4 form.
