King Harald is likely the most influential person in Loki’s family and a hugely important figure in Elbaph’s history. In his youth, Harald was known for being reckless and aggressive, fitting the typical image of ancient giants as fierce warriors. It was during this time that he met the mothers of his two sons, including Estrid, who became his official wife. However, Harald and Estrid didn’t have a close or affectionate relationship; Estrid was often selfish, greedy, and proud. This ultimately created an even more strained connection between Estrid and Loki.

King Harald wasn’t very present in his son Loki’s life, which left Loki feeling lonely, even though he had Ida. Despite this distance, Harald loved Loki just as much as his older child, making their eventual conflict all the more heartbreaking. As revealed in a powerful flashback in One Piece, Harald became a king who, with good intentions, was manipulated into an immortal, corrupted tool of Imu. Harald desperately wanted to die, but only Loki, wielding the weapon Ragnir, could end his immortality. With his last breath, Harald begged Loki to become king and save Elbaph. However, things tragically went the other way – Loki was disgraced and accused of killing both his father and the king.

Even though Estrid didn’t appear much on screen compared to other members of Prince Loki’s family, she significantly and negatively impacted Loki’s upbringing. King Harald was fond of his first love, Ida, but as a king, he needed a queen, leading him to marry Estrid. Where Ida was simple and kind, Estrid was strikingly beautiful and elegant, masking a deeply selfish nature. Estrid loved lavish things and had a high opinion of herself, which distorted how she saw her son. She desired a child who would reflect her own beauty, but Loki didn’t meet her expectations, and she considered him a disappointment. Loki’s uncle, Estrid’s brother, shared this same harsh view.

Before fans even knew the character Loki, his relative Hajrudin appeared in One Piece. Hajrudin first appeared during the Dressrosa Saga as a competitor in the Corrida Colosseum, while Loki wasn’t mentioned until much later, in the Whole Cake Saga. Hajrudin eventually joined the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, becoming an ally alongside characters like Bartolomeo and Cavendish. He’s remained in that role ever since, which is why fans anticipate he’ll fight alongside Luffy against his enemies in the Final Saga. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet was created as a group of potential fighters, suggesting characters like Hajrudin will play an important role in the story’s climax.

For years, Hajrudin and his younger half-brother Loki had a difficult relationship. Loki constantly teased Hajrudin for being smaller and less imposing, despite Loki being the younger of the two. He even mocked Hajrudin for his mother, Ida, not being from their homeland, Elbaph. Hajrudin, like many giants, believed Loki was responsible for King Harald’s death. However, they’ve recently made amends. Hajrudin now understands what really happened, and while they’re still cautious around each other, they’ve become allies, helped by their shared friend, Luffy.

Ida, a woman of immense size, isn’t related to Loki by blood, but she’s become a significant figure in his life. Years ago, a young Harald met and fell in love with Ida while traveling the Grand Line, and they had a son named Hajrudin. Ida later moved to Elbaph, where she became known as a kind and well-liked member of the community. This contrasted with Estrid, who was focused on her appearance and self-importance, while Ida was content with her simple life and natural looks. Ida wasn’t jealous when Harald had another son with a different woman; instead, she warmly accepted Loki for who he was.

Loki frequently dismissed Ida, but she was a motherly figure to him, as she raised his older half-brother. Many One Piece fans believe Ida was the only consistent, positive influence in Loki’s life and the mother he needed, even if he didn’t initially show his appreciation. Eventually, Loki grew to value Ida’s presence, demonstrating his care by bringing her food when she became ill.
