How to Build Muscle in Half Sword

Half Sword offers a unique gaming experience, especially with its realistic medieval combat system. A key feature is character progression through muscle building – the more muscle your character has, the better they’ll fight and the tougher enemies they can handle. This guide will explain how muscle and weight work in Half Sword, and provide tips on building your character’s strength.

If you come across videos or pictures of characters who look like the Hulk in the game, it means someone has altered the game’s files or is using a modification (mod).

What Does Muscle Do In Half Sword?

As your character gains muscle, their weight will increase. You can see this weight displayed at the bottom of the screen when selecting armor and weapons. Importantly, this muscle weight is separate from the weight of the armor or weapons you equip.

Having a heavier build and more muscle will help your character withstand attacks better, though they won’t be completely protected. More importantly, increased muscle mass allows for stronger and more precise weapon swings, particularly with heavier weapons. Your character’s punches will also pack more of a punch.

NPC opponents also have different ranks, and those of higher ranks are typically better built.

If you’re struggling with control and falling often when you first start playing Half Sword, it’s simply because your character begins the game very weak.

In Progression Mode, gaining levels is helpful, but it doesn’t actually build muscle. To grow your muscles, you need to use stamina while lifting weights – you’ll see the message “Burn stamina to grow your muscles” when you hover over a weight. Also, it seems the heaviest weight you can lift is 88 kg.

Just playing the game and using stamina for actions like hitting, running, and jumping will gradually build muscle. But you can speed up muscle growth with certain strategies. In fact, it’s even possible to reach maximum muscle development even if you’re starting with very little.

Swing Heavy Weapons After Winning Fights

Battles will increase your carrying capacity, and after defeating enemies, you can continue practicing with your weapon to build strength. This training is especially effective with heavier, two-handed weapons.

Wear Heavy Armor & Jump

Even though Half Sword doesn’t have a gym, you can still get a workout! A developer suggests putting on heavy armor and repeatedly jumping with the Spacebar to quickly drain your stamina – it’s a surprising way to exercise your leg muscles.

Set Player & NPC Damage As Low As It Will Go

You can adjust the game settings to minimize damage taken by both your character and non-player characters. Then, start a brawl and repeatedly punch each other. Because damage is so low, neither fighter will likely die or give up, allowing the fight to continue indefinitely.

Wear Heavy Armor & Fight As Usual

You don’t have to actively try to increase your strength. Just playing the game normally will usually make your character stronger, and wearing heavier armor when you can will help with that.

When your character dies, your next one can begin at the highest rank you previously achieved, though you’ll have to regain your strength.
