As a longtime fan of psychological horror games, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of “Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition” on October 28! Having played the original game back when it was first released on mobile devices, I’ve been eagerly awaiting a chance to revisit its unnerving atmosphere inspired by classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

The enhanced edition of “Forgotten Memories: Remastered” is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices on October 28th.

The mobile versions of this game aren’t surprising at all, given that it initially launched exclusively on smartphones and tablets back in April 2015, appearing first on the iOS App Store under the title Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities. A more advanced version, the Definitive Edition, was released in April 2018 and made its way to the Google Play Store in October 2019. Since its debut, Forgotten Memories has been praised as one of the top horror games for mobile devices.

Forgotten Memories Remaster Gets a Release Date

Psychose Interactive, a developer based in Canada, is gearing up for another launch of its hit horror game, as they’ve revealed that Forgotten Memories will be receiving an upgrade on October 28. In addition to mobile platforms, the upgraded version, titled the Remastered Edition, will also debut on the Nintendo Switch. This new edition will only be available digitally through the eShop, and there’s currently no word on its price. At present, the Forgotten Memories: Definitive Edition sells for between $3.99 and $4.99 on mobile devices and does not include any microtransactions.

Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition Promises Better Visuals, New Difficulty, and More

Similar to its 2015 predecessor, Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition offers a thrilling experience for enthusiasts of survival horror games craving an unsettling journey reminiscent of iconic series like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. This updated version showcases enhanced graphics, with advanced lighting and particle effects, higher-quality textures, and more realistic character designs. The audio, including music and sound effects, has also been upgraded for this project. Additionally, the enemy AI and animations have been revamped, along with a new “Insane” difficulty level, achievements, UI enhancements, improved localization, and other exciting features.

The remastered version we’re eagerly awaiting has been in the works for more than a year now. Back in August 2023, Psychose Interactive initially made the announcement about it. Interestingly, they also disclosed during that time that they were simultaneously working on a new installment of “Forgotten Memories”. Details about this project are scant at the moment, but we do know that Psychose previously hinted at larger game levels and a fresh artistic style for the sequel.

Given the enduring acclaim that Forgotten Memories continues to receive as one of the top mobile horror games, enthusiasts of this genre should definitely keep an eye out for its upcoming remaster. The pre-ordering period is set to commence on October 25, a full three days before the game’s simultaneous launch across multiple platforms.
