Heartopia is teaming up with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic just in time for Valentine’s Day! The relaxing life simulation game has been popular since its release last month, and this collaboration is expected to attract even more players.
I jumped into Heartopia when it hit Steam on January 16th, after it originally launched on mobile a week earlier. It actually got super popular, peaking at over 64,000 players at once! The developers, XD – they made that cozy free-to-play game you might know – call it a ‘multiplayer slow-life sim.’ Basically, it’s a really chill game where you can hang out with friends, fish, garden, cook, catch bugs, watch birds, and even run obstacle courses. It’s getting kinda mixed reviews right now, but I think that’s just because it’s new. A lot of us feel like it still plays a bit better on mobile and needs some more work to really shine on PC.
Heartopia’s My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Crossover Starts February 14
Good news for fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! The popular animated series, which aired from 2010 to 2019, is coming to the game Heartopia with special in-game events. A new trailer reveals that the Tree of Harmony will magically appear on Whale Island through a portal. Players who are members of Heartopia‘s D.G. Guild will need to use the elements of Harmony – honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, and magic – to restore the tree and return it to its home in Equestria.
While details are still coming, a new update is live now to prepare for the upcoming Tree of Harmony event. The XD team has planned several special events in Heartopia, including a Little Pony Badge Collection. The trailer also confirmed rumors of special cars based on the Mane Six – Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash – which will likely be the best rewards from the gacha system. There’s also talk of a seventh, unique Harmony Car being awarded to players who collect all six of the others, though XD hasn’t officially confirmed this.
Image via XD I’m so excited! It looks like we’ll be able to collect a ton of accessories to dress up our avatars as the Mane Six! The trailer also showed off this adorable pet costume based on Spike, Twilight’s little dragon buddy – it’s called Heartopia and it’s super cute! The official Heartopia website hasn’t been updated with details about the crossover yet, so I’m going to be checking it constantly leading up to Valentine’s Day to make sure I don’t miss anything!
Image via XD Before it even started, the new event is already a hit with players of Heartopia. It looks like fans of both Heartopia and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic have a lot of overlap, and the trailer has gotten a great reaction. Players are already picking out their favorite costumes and vehicles in Heartopia. Many are also hoping for more collaborations in the future, with Sanrio being a particularly popular request.
