In Arknights Endfield, Gear Artificing is a late-game feature that lets you maximize your equipment’s potential. It allows you to improve the stats of gear created in your factories, but it requires resources, so it’s important to choose wisely which pieces to upgrade.
Want to improve your equipment in Endfield? You’ll need to learn about Artificing. This guide explains how to use Artificing to upgrade your gear, how to unlock the ability, and other helpful tips.
How to Unlock Artificing in Arknights Endfield
As you advance through the Wuling storyline in Endfield, you’ll unlock a side quest called Gear Artificing. This quest will lead you to the Bureau of Swordmancers in Wuling City. Just speak to the NPC there to begin a tutorial on how to use Artificing.
How to Artifice Gear in Arknights Endfield
First, open the game’s menu and choose “Gear Assembly.” Then, in the menu that opens, click on the “Gear Artificing” tab at the top of the screen.
Artificing requires the following:
- Gear of the same slot and rarity as the Gear piece you want to artifice
- Regional Artificing Catalysts
- Mainly obtained through Stock Redistribution.
The Artificing screen shows you all the gear you own that’s eligible for upgrading. Currently, only Gold-rarity items can be artificed. To get the blueprints needed for Gold gear, you can open Gear Template Crates found around Wuling, or purchase them through Wuling’s Stock Redistribution system.
To artifice your gear, do the following:
- Pick the piece you want to upgrade.
- Select the stat you want to upgrade.
- Choose the piece of Gear you want to sacrifice.
Okay, so once you’ve decided what gear you want to upgrade, you hit the Artifice button and basically sacrifice the stuff you don’t need. But heads up – it’s not always a guaranteed success! Sometimes the upgrade fails. Don’t worry though, every failed attempt fills up an Artificing Progress Bar. Once that bar is full, your next upgrade will work, no problem.
You’re more likely to successfully upgrade an item if the materials you use for the upgrade have better stats than the item itself. Be aware that you only get a limited number of attempts to upgrade each item. If you fail too many times, the item will be unusable, and you’ll need to start with a new one to try again.
Which Gear and Stats Should You Artifice?
When improving your equipment, it’s best to use only your highest-quality items – typically Tier 4 gear. The most important stats to focus on will vary depending on the Operator you’re building. However, a general guideline is to prioritize increasing your Operator’s main stat first. For example, if your Operator’s main stat is Strength, focus on improving Strength when crafting, as this will give you the biggest boost to your attack power.
