To start the “Tiger of Kai Myth” quest in Nioh 3, players must talk to a ghost near the cliff by the Silver Grass Meadow Shrine on Futamata Road. This ghost will ask you to collect items connected to Takeda Shingen to finish the quest.

This side quest is substantial and closely connected to the main storyline. Players will need to beat a few of the game’s major bosses to get some of the rewards.

The first item is the Demon of Mino’s Charm located in Futamata Castle.

When you reach the Futamata Castle Defensive Gate Shrine, go around the enemies and head upstairs. After defeating Baba Nobuharu, you’ll finish a main quest and get the Demon of Mino’s Charm. Bring the charm back to the ghost, and he’ll ask you to find another item.

As a big fan of Takeda Shingen, I was so excited to find his fan! You can actually get it inside the Mikatagahara Crucible – it’s a must-have for any collector like me.

Once you’ve completed the Crucible, you’ll face Takeda Shingen, a very powerful enemy who hits hard. Defeating him will reward you with Shingen’s Fan, an item you need to give to the ghost to continue with the ‘Depicting the Tiger of Kai’ quest in Nioh 3.

Finally, head towards Saigagake to collect the final item, which is the Takeda Sake Bottle.

Follow the quest marker to reach the Saigagake – Rear Approach Shrine. Go straight ahead and turn right to open the door. Be ready for a strong enemy inside! Once you defeat the yokai, search its body to find the Takeda Sake Bottle.

Hand the last item to the ghost. They will then ask you to use your artistic talent to create a painting – a portrait of Takeda Shingen – as a final gift.

Finishing the Kai Myth storyline, ‘Depicting the Tiger,’ unlocks several rewards for players, including a Ninja’s Locks.
