In Nioh 3, armor sets have special bonuses that unlock when you equip multiple pieces from the same set. The more pieces you wear, the more powerful bonuses you’ll receive.
It can be difficult to find where to check the bonuses from your equipped items because the menus aren’t very clear. This guide will show you how to easily see the set bonuses for any item you have.
How to See Set Bonuses in Nioh 3
To view the set bonus of an item in Nioh 3, follow these steps:
- Press Esc (PC) or Start (Controller) to open the pause menu.
- Go to the Equipment or Items tab.
- Find an armor or weapon that is part of a set.
- Press L2 + Left on the D-Pad (Controller) or C (Keyboard/Mouse) to view the set bonus screen.
As a fan, I really appreciate how the game shows you all the pieces of a set right on the stat screen! It’s super helpful to see everything at a glance. What’s even better is the color-coding: white shows what you’re currently wearing from the set, while gray indicates the pieces you still need to find or equip. And the set bonuses themselves follow the same logic – white means active, gray means not yet! It makes building a complete set so much easier to track.
In Nioh 3, most armor and weapons aren’t part of a matching set and won’t give you extra bonuses for collecting them. You can tell if an item is part of a set by looking for a white link icon when you’re choosing your gear.
Just like gear, set bonuses need a certain stat level to work. If your character doesn’t meet those stat requirements, the bonuses won’t activate, even if you’re wearing a full set. You can find the required stats listed below the bonus descriptions.
As you can see in the screenshot, the Crimson General’s Set needs 6 Stamina and 5 Strength to activate. A blue indicator shows you have enough of both stats, while a red indicator means you need to increase them.
In Nioh 3, you can freely change your character’s stats. Don’t worry about meeting the requirements for equipment bonuses – feel free to reset your stats to make everything fit!
