As someone who’s been diving deep into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen for quite some time now, I must say, these results are as fascinating as a Curse that transforms you into a living meme!
This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
The widely acclaimed manga titled “Jujutsu Kaisen” is nearing its conclusion, leaving only a handful of chapters left. As the narrative winds up, a fresh wave of popularity swept through Japan, making it intriguing to gauge fan opinions on all the characters.
In the narrative, the development of each character’s journey has significantly advanced, causing a shift in audience preferences. Some characters have climbed to the top, becoming fan favorites, while others have seen their appeal decrease. Here are the 10 most beloved characters from “JJK,” as determined by the 4th popularity poll.
10 Toji Fushiguro
The Sorcerer Killer
- Number of Votes: 3,218
In the storyline of Jujutsu Kaisen, Toji Fushiguro – Megumi’s father – is a highly favored character and a formidable adversary. In the present narrative, he has unfortunately met his end. During the Past arc of Saito Gojo, he served as the antagonist.
Much like Maki, he lacks any malevolent energy. Yet, this doesn’t hinder his immense power, as demonstrated by his near-fatal encounter with Gojo before his eventual loss. Interestingly, Toji was resurrected in Shibuya and ended up taking his own life upon seeing his son, Megumi. Given the passage of time since he played a significant role in the narrative, finishing 10th place is quite impressive.
9 Sukuna
The King Of Curses
- Number of Votes: 4,077
In the realm of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna stands as the most formidable sorcerer ever known, serving as the principal antagonist. Often referred to as the “Curse King,” this title is more than just a name – it reflects his unparalleled power. It took the combined might of the main characters to eventually subdue him, highlighting the magnitude of his strength.
Despite being a central antagonist, Sukuna surprisingly ranks ninth in popularity, which is relatively low for such an essential and impactful character. It appears that he isn’t particularly favored by the audience, and given his demise, it seems unlikely that fans will develop a fondness for him moving forward.
8 Nanami
A Grade One Sorcerer
- Number of Votes: 4,162
In the occurrences of Shibuya, Nanami met his demise at the hands of Mahito. Prior to this, he served as a significant mentor figure for Yuji, earning him much admiration from the fanbase overall.
He ended up in 8th place, a well-deserved spot for a good character who died a few arcs ago.
7 Yuta Okkotsu
A Sorcerer Second Only to Gojo
- Number of Votes: 5,991
In the poll for JJK 0, the main character Yuta managed to secure the 7th position, which may appear relatively lower given his significant contributions to the narrative compared to the formidable antagonist Sukuna.
In the series, it’s clear that Yuta played a significant role among the main combatants in defeating the King of Curses, Sukuna. His power stands out as one of the most impressive abilities featured in the show.
6 Choso
The Strongest Death Painting
- Number of Votes: 6,247
In the end, Choso finishes in 6th position, which is quite impressive. However, there’s a significant difference between his score and the one who finished in 5th place.
In the captivating world of JJK, I find myself deeply connected to a character named Choso. As Yuji’s brother, he adds a unique layer to the narrative. Particularly, his selfless act of sacrificing himself to shield Yuji struck a chord with many fans, including myself.
5 Naoya Zenin
The Zenin Prodigy
- Number of Votes: 11,731
Among all these fascinating characters, it’s me – Naoya Zenin – who undeniably stands out in an unusual way. In the storyline, I suffer defeat at the hands of Maki Zenin and meet my untimely demise before the Culling Game. Yet, remarkably, I return as a vengeful spirit. Even more intriguingly, my spirit is exorcized by none other than Maki once again. Surprisingly, Japanese readers of JJK have shown an unexpected affection for this seemingly unlikable character like me.
To put it simply, Naoya garnered nearly twice as many votes as Choso, who ultimately finished in sixth position. This high placement of Naoya in the JJK polls isn’t a recent occurrence and continues to leave readers of JJK scratching their heads, particularly since Maki doesn’t even make the top 10.
4 Suguru Geto
Gojo’s Best Friend
- Number of Votes: 19,156
Suguru Geto is widely loved by fans even though he’s deceased for much of the narrative and only appears alive during the story arcs that delve into Gojo’s past and in JJK 0, serving as the primary antagonist.
Among the characters in the show, Suguru stood out as particularly captivating, largely because of his dynamic with Gojo and his beliefs. He managed to secure the fourth position among the audience’s favorites, earning him the title of the most well-liked antagonist in the JJK narrative.
3 Megumi Fushiguro
One Of The Main Characters
- Number of Votes: 28,502
Megumi Fushiguro remains well-liked among fans even though he played a minimal role during a large chunk of the climactic storyline. After his body was possessed by Sukuna, he no longer engaged in combat against Sukuna afterwards.
Megumi has consistently been well-loved by many, even securing victories in some popularity contests. Unfortunately, her character hasn’t been fully utilized, leaving fans feeling that her potential has been squandered and disappointed.
2 Yuji Itadori
The Protagonist Of JJK
- Number of Votes: 48,131
In the series, Yuji, one of the main characters, has seen an increase in fan favoritism, finishing second behind the top contender. With a significant margin, approximately 20,000 more votes, Yuji outshines Megumi, who placed third. This is the first instance since the initial JJK popularity poll that Yuji surpasses Megumi’s standing.
It could be because of his significant role in the final storyline where he powerfully confronts Sukuna, and also considering Megumi’s temporary exit from the narrative.
1 Gojo Satoru
The Strongest Modern Sorcerer
- Number of Votes: 113,392
It’s no surprise that Gojo Satoru, a man with such immense power that he nearly defeated Sukuna single-handedly, claimed the first place in this popularity poll.
Gojo stands out as the most powerful contemporary sorcerer, captivating numerous fans through his extraordinary abilities and endearing character traits. In a resounding victory, he garnered more than twice the number of votes compared to Yuji. The sorrow among fans upon his supposed demise has been profound, with many readers continuing to hold out hope for his return.
