WWE 2K26 Confirms 10 Matches for CM Punk’s Showcase (So Far)

Roman Reigns is set to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42. And a month before the event, players will be able to simulate the match in the upcoming video game, WWE 2K26. CM Punk is featured on the game’s cover, and the game’s Showcase Mode will highlight key moments from his career, starting in 2008.

Just as Paul Heyman provided commentary for the Roman Reigns and The Bloodline Showcase in WWE 2K25, CM Punk will narrate the story of his own career in WWE 2K26. The game will feature a look back at his most famous matches, feuds, and moments, and he’ll also discuss potential dream matches that never happened.

A recently released trailer for WWE 2K26’s Showcase Mode offers a preview of the experience and reveals the first 10 matches included. Previous versions, like WWE 2K24, featured 21 matches in the Showcase of the Immortals and 17 in the Bloodline Showcase (excluding extra matches). This suggests WWE 2K26’s Showcase Mode could have significantly more matches – possibly even double the amount – though the final count isn’t confirmed yet. The trailer also gives fans a brief look at how the Showcase Mode will play.

List of CM Punk Showcase Matches

  • CM Punk vs. JBL (SummerSlam 2008)
  • CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio (Armageddon 2008)
  • CM Punk vs. The Rock (Elimination Chamber 2013)
  • CM Punk vs. John Cena (RAW, February 25th 2013)
  • CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam 2013)
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre (Bad Blood 2024)
  • CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns (WrestleMania 41)
  • CM Punk vs. Eddie Guerrero
  • CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
  • CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. The Miz & Maryse

The showcase features a mix of CM Punk’s classic matches and some fantasy matchups imagining ‘what if’ scenarios. Many of the included bouts are from earlier in his career. For instance, his famous rivalry with John Cena is highlighted, along with his first time headlining WrestleMania against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. His intense feud with Drew McIntyre is also featured – a pairing fans have long wanted to see, making its inclusion a natural fit.

His showcase is off to a strong start, and there’s potential for many exciting matches. However, there’s still a lot of his past that could be featured. I’d love to see a rematch with John Cena, perhaps recreating their Money in the Bank match from 2011. Other great options would include CM Punk versus Jeff Hardy from SummerSlam 2009, CM Punk against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, and one of his actual Money in the Bank matches.

Fans, including myself, will need to be patient, but thankfully the wait isn’t long! WWE 2K26 comes out on March 13th for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. If you purchase the King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, or Monday Night Wars edition, you can start playing early on March 6th.
