As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for us enthusiasts! With a diverse lineup of video game movies and TV series on the horizon, there’s no denying the anticipation that’s building.
Video game movie adaptations span quite a range, from truly disappointing ones (which I won’t dwell on) to decent ones worth watching. There are only a few exceptions though. In 2025, several new video game movies and TV series might end up being either a hit or a miss, and we can’t wait to see where they land.

As of now, we’re looking at a lineup of nine upcoming videos – films and TV shows slated for release in 2025. This diverse collection includes Netflix-exclusive series, anime productions, and feature films that will grace movie screens across the country throughout the year. Among them are:

Did you realize that the film “Werewolves Within,” featuring Milana Vayntrub and Sam Richardson, is actually based on a video game with the same name? I must confess, I had no idea, even though I’m a big fan of the movie. The game was a multiplayer virtual reality title, developed by Red Storm Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. In this game, players needed to employ social deduction skills to identify which player was the werewolf before they could eliminate everyone else.
Indeed, this film is often ranked among the top video game movie adaptations ever made, and I must say, it truly lives up to the hype. It’s simply outstanding!
What is the Lowest Rated Video Game Movie of All Time?
The 2007 movie “Postal,” directed by Uwe Boll, is frequently labeled one of the most poorly executed video game film adaptations. To put it mildly, it’s really bad. Featuring Zack Ward and Chris Coppola, this film chronicles a resident of a trailer park who gets involved with a cult leader amidst terrorist schemes. It’s a cinematic disaster that manages to be offensive in every regrettable manner possible.
