Metaphor: ReFantazio - The Man-Eater In The Mine Bounty Guide

As a seasoned adventurer who’s battled countless beasts and bosses across the realm of ReFantazio, I can confidently say that Valmo is one of the most intriguing challenges yet. This double-trouble duo requires strategy, timing, and a bit of luck to conquer.

In the game “ReFantazio,” Bounties provide an effortless method for players to accumulate substantial amounts of in-game currency, Reeve, and engage with challenging and exclusive bosses. Although bounties are not mandatory, they serve as excellent opportunities for players to advance their characters when they have spare time since they typically introduce a fresh dungeon to be explored.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed that the initial challenges in the game are quite straightforward. However, things take a turn when I encounter Valmo. Here’s the twist – Valmo isn’t just one boss, but two! Engaging with them requires both combat skills and solving a puzzle. The attack patterns and stats might be similar for the duo, but the strategic aspect of this battle makes it as much a brain teaser as a fight. It’s an exciting change from the usual encounters!

How To Prepare For Valmo In Metaphor: ReFantazio

  • Use Skill Inheritance and have each party member learn an Ice Spell.
  • Have at least one party member use the Mage.
  • Have another party member use Seeker or Magic Seeker.

Valmo will constantly cause Paralysis on your party, so it’s important to have an Archetype that knows Patra or have lots of Vitamin Relaxants. The Healer can also be useful, as Rakunda will help for the times one of the Valmo lowers the agility of the entire party, which will sometimes be used multiple times and the effect will stack. On your main healer or as many party members as possible, wear gear or accessories that negate or lower the chances of paralysis. Be sure to go into this fight with full MP, as you’ll need to cast a lot of spells.

How To Beat Valmo In Metaphor: ReFantazio

If you don’t defeat both Valmos in the same turn, a new one will appear fully healed. Luckily, they are vulnerable to ice attacks.

To win this battle effectively, the crucial factor is synchronizing the moment when you defeat both Valmo. The method you use to weaken them isn’t important, but they must perish in the same turn. Given this condition, it’s essential to ensure your entire party remains active and free from any debilitating status conditions. This is because having as many Press Turn icons available during that decisive turn will greatly increase your chances of defeating both enemies simultaneously.

As a gamer, when I’ve got the right Archetypes at my disposal, my Mage can unleash a two-target attack called Gablizz in a pinch. It’s smart to boost your Mage’s damage output a few times before the final round, as overdoing it is always better than underdoing it and summoning another enemy. If a new one does appear, I might need to restart the battle to ensure my party is fully healed up on HP and MP as well.

In this battle, while Valmo may not cause significant harm individually with their bite and fire breath, be cautious of the sandstorm and swiftly remove its debuff since each Press Turn is crucial in this fight. Use ice attacks frequently to boost your attack power, but ensure you’re only weakening Valmo instead of trying to defeat them completely. It’s optimal to keep them moderately weakened but delay the final blow until a new turn so that you have sufficient Press Turn icons available.
