Former Nintendo Switch Console Exclusive Unexpectedly Comes to Xbox

After being available for years only on Nintendo Switch, World’s End Club is now available on Xbox consoles. Developed by Japanese studio Too Kyo Games, World’s End Club was announced when the studio was founded and is their second game, following the interactive film adventure Death Come True.

Too Kyo Games was established in 2017 by a group of experienced game developers. Key founders include renowned composer Masafumi Takada, artist Rui Komatsuzaki, and the creators of popular titles: Kazutaka Kodaka, known for the Danganrompa series, and Kotaro Uchikoshi, creator of Zero Escape. Beyond developing games, the studio has also been involved in producing anime like Akudama Drive and Tribe Nine. Their next project is Danganrompa 2 x 2, a remake of Danganrompa 2: Goodbye Despair with a completely new story.

Former Nintendo Switch Console Exclusive Launches on Xbox Consoles Out Of Nowhere

After being available for years only on Nintendo Switch, World’s End Club has surprisingly come to Xbox One, Series S, and Series X, launching on February 9th. The game originally appeared on Apple Arcade in September 2020, then came to Nintendo Switch in May 2021 and Windows PCs in November of that year. It stayed exclusive to those platforms for almost five years before arriving on PlayStation 5 in July 2025. Now, Xbox players can also enjoy the game.

Released in 1995, World’s End Club is a distinctive visual novel. It centers around Reycho, a student and recent addition to a friend group called the Go-Getters Club. While on a school trip to Tokyo, a devastating meteor strike occurs. Reycho and his friends wake up in a strange amusement park and are met by Pielope, a playful, clown-like robot. Pielope compels the kids to play a dangerous Game of Fate – a series of deadly challenges they must complete if they want to return home to Tokyo.

World’s End Club starts with a setup that fans of the creator’s other games – like the Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files series – will recognize. However, the story quickly becomes much more complex. You’ll play as Reysho and his friends as they try to find other survivors and figure out what happened after a meteor hit the Earth. The game mixes elements from visual novels, puzzle games, and platformers. You’ll battle enemies and solve challenges by using each character’s unique skills. When they’re not exploring, the group sets up camp, giving Reysho a chance to get to know and build relationships with his companions.

Though reviews have been varied, fans appreciate its likeable characters and hopeful message in the face of difficult circumstances. Games like World’s End Club, which take creative risks, are rare, and its recent release on Xbox could introduce it to many new players.
