2025 saw incredible anime films, including hits like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. Now, fans can finally watch Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc from the comfort of their homes.
Crunchyroll will be streaming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc this spring, but they haven’t announced the exact release date yet.
Reze Arc Movie Finally Coming to Streaming
I’m so excited! Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc first hit theaters in Japan back in September 2025, and then came to North America in October. Now, the wait is almost over for those of us who want to watch it from home – Crunchyroll is finally bringing it to streaming! They haven’t given us a specific date yet, but they say we can expect more info as we get closer to spring 2026.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is based on the ‘Bomb Girl Arc’ from the original manga (also called the ‘Reze Arc’). Crunchyroll explains the film as follows:
Chainsaw Man, the hit anime, returns with a thrilling new story packed with action. As devils and hunters clash in a fierce war, Denji finds himself caught in a personal struggle when he meets a girl named Reze. He’ll have to fight both hidden foes and his own inner demons in his most dangerous battle yet, all while trying to hold onto what makes him human.
Critics loved the movie, giving it a 96% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences scored it at 98%. It was also a commercial success, grossing over $173 million worldwide – $43 million in the US and $130 million internationally.
The film features Kikunosuke Toya (known for his roles in The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity and Wind Breaker) as Denji, and Reina Ueda (who voiced characters in Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer) as Reze. Tomori Kusunoki (Love Live), Fairouz Ai (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), and Shiori Izawa (Made in Abyss) voice Makima, Power, and Pochita, respectively.
The English dub features Ryan Colt Levy, known for his role as John H. Watson in Moriarty the Patriot, as Denji, and Alexis Tipton, who voiced Kaguya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, as Reze. Suzie Yeung (Fruits Basket’s Kyo) voices Makima, Sarah Wiedenheft (Teasing Master Takagi-san’s Takagi) plays Power, and Lindsay Seidel (Assassination Classroom’s Nagisa) voices Pochita.
The film was produced by MAPPA, with Tatsuya Yoshihara as director and Hiroshi Seko writing the screenplay. Yoshihara is a key animator who has worked on popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and he also directed episodes of Chainsaw Man. Seko is known for his work on series including Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, and Jujutsu Kaisen, among others.
Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga, Chainsaw Man, first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on December 3, 2018, and later moved to the Shonen Jump+ platform in July 2022. Before Chainsaw Man, Fujimoto gained recognition for Fire Punch, which ran on Shonen Jump+ from April 2016 to January 2018. He’s also known for his short stories, including Goodbye, Eri and Look Back, with Look Back being adapted into an anime film in 2024. A collection of his earlier works, Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man, was published in 2021. An original net animation (ONA) based on these stories, licensed by Amazon Prime Video and produced by studios like P.A. Works and Zexcs, was released on November 7, 2025.
Many of Kentaro Fujimoto’s former assistants have become successful manga artists themselves, including Yuji Kaku (creator of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku), Tatsuya Endo (Spy × Family), and Yukinobu Tatsu (Dandadan). In 2022, the animation studio MAPPA released a 12-episode anime series based on the Chainsaw Man manga. After the popularity of the Reze Arc movie, a sequel anime, Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc, was announced at Jump Festa ’26.
