If you enjoy darkly humorous, replayable RPGs, you’ll probably really enjoy Mewgenics. The game starts with a quirky scientist named Thomas A. Beanies who’s completely obsessed with mutant cats and believes they hold the key to changing the world—he even thinks they might unlock immortality! He needs your help to collect the best cats so he can run experiments on them.

Okay, so I’m really into Mewgenics, and let me tell you, battles are a huge part of the game – it’s a turn-based tactical roguelite, so strategy is key! You need a LOT of Mana to actually win those fights and help your cats level up. I was looking for a way to get more, and this is basically a guide to help you do just that – get your kitties ready to really take on the enemies!

‎How to Gain Mana Fast in Mewgenics

In Mewgenics, your cats don’t just attack – they can also cast spells and use special abilities on enemies. But using these abilities costs Mana, which is like energy or an attack resource. Each cat has a limited amount of Mana, displayed as a blue hurricane icon under its health bar. You can see how much Mana a cat has once it’s in battle.

You mainly get Mana by ending your cat’s turn during a battle, which then lets your other team members attack. You end a turn by tapping the “End Turn” button on the right side of the screen. The amount of Mana your cat earns each turn is clearly shown on this button, so there’s no luck involved. Keep in mind that earning Mana each turn might not always be enough to activate special bonus attacks. Usually, you’ll gain around five or more Mana per turn, but most abilities cost seven Mana to use.

Fortunately, you can greatly increase how quickly your units gain Mana. To start, collect Catnips. These are found throughout the battle arena and can be targeted with your skills – just like enemies – and each one will give you 10 extra Mana.

Next, you must equip Catnip Baggy on your pets. Here’s a quick rundown of the common ones:

  • Small Catnip Baggy grants +7 Mana.
  • Large Catnip Baggy gives +14 Mana.

You can earn these rewards by finishing levels or as you play through the chapters. Just remember, you have to use them during that same adventure. If your cats get defeated or you quit before finishing, you’ll lose them, so don’t try to save them for later!

Okay, so I’ve discovered you can also find things like ‘Leaky Brain’ in treasure chests, and they’re actually pretty cool. Basically, whenever I spend mana on one of my cats, all my nearby allies get a little boost of 2 extra mana themselves. It’s a nice little bonus to keep everyone powered up!

Because a unit’s intelligence directly impacts how much Mana they gain each round (indicated by the lightbulb icon), equipping Brain Candy is very beneficial. It permanently increases their intelligence by +5 for the duration of the battle.

You can also regain mana through passive skills, such as Hunter’s Boon, which become available after winning battles. Be sure to carefully review each skill card to understand its benefits when it’s offered.
