How To Complete Thoughts Bequeathed Quest In Nioh 3

The “Thoughts Bequeathed” is a Mythic Tale in Nioh 3 that begins when you explore the Heian Era. To finish it, you’ll need to help the warrior Minamoto find a few hidden scrolls. Here’s a guide to finding all of Benkei’s Hidden Scrolls so you can complete the “Thoughts Bequeathed” Myth in Nioh 3.

Thoughts Bequeathed Myth In Nioh 3

You’ll begin ‘Thoughts Bequeathed’ by finding and speaking with Minamoto in Rokuhara. He’s located on the southwest side of the area, near Gojo Bridge. This conversation will start the ‘Thoughts Bequeathed’ Myth in Nioh 3.

The warrior needs your help finding three scrolls belonging to Benkei. These scrolls are hidden at Gojo Bridge, Yasaka Shrine, and Awawa no Tsuji. You can collect them in any order you choose.

  • Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Top: Found in Gojo Bridge.
  • Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Middle: Found in Awawa no Tsuji.
  • Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Bottom: Found in Yasaka Shrine.

Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Top

You can find the first Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Top very near where Minamoto is. Start at Gojo Bridge Shrine and head southwest to a broken, partially submerged house. The scroll is inside a chest within that house.

Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Middle

Start at Tacchi Gate Shrine in Awawa no Tsuji. Head west through the broken wall and defeat the yokai that appears. After that, enter the house to find a Samurai’s Locks. Break the painting inside, then search the backyard for a chest – it holds Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Middle.

Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Bottom

Fast travel to Yasaka Shrine in Rokuhara, then head southeast. From the shrine, go to Nishiro Gate Shrine and turn east. Walk around the building until you find a path blocked by ice. Break the ice to open the way forward, which will unlock a chest containing Benkei’s Hidden Scroll – Bottom.

Okay, so once I grabbed all three scrolls, I went back to Minamoto to show them off. That’s when a bunch of yokai showed up for a fight! After taking them all down, I talked to Minamoto again, and that finished the ‘Thoughts Bequeathed’ quest in Nioh 3.

Finishing this quest unlocks the crafting recipes for Benkei’s Axe, Stone’s Bane, and Benkei’s Splitstaff. You can then take these recipes to a blacksmith to create the weapons and use them in combat.
