The biggest strength of Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly its use of the Harry Potter license, letting it include famous places like Hogsmeade, Azkaban, and Hogwarts itself. This game is the most ambitious Harry Potter game we’ve seen yet, comparable to large open-world games like Assassin’s Creed Origins or The Witcher 3, offering a huge, realistic world with lots to do, character customization, and skill development. The game feels more like a fresh take on the Harry Potter books than a retelling of the movies, though it still draws inspiration from the films – especially in how iconic places like the Great Hall look, and through numerous hidden references. It’s likely the next Hogwarts Legacy game will continue to honor the films, but will it also try to incorporate elements from the Harry Potter TV show?
