Overwatch has announced a special event teaming up with the game Naraka: Bladepoint. However, this event is currently only accessible to players in China. It includes unique character skins and items inspired by Naraka: Bladepoint, and it’s part of a growing number of Overwatch events exclusive to China.
The launch of Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 1: Conquest on February 10th was a major moment for the game. Essentially a fresh start for Overwatch 2 (dropping the ‘2’ from the title), this new season introduced a story campaign, five new playable characters, specialized roles within those characters, a redesigned user interface, and a host of other changes. The game quickly became incredibly popular, breaking player records on Steam and Twitch within just one day of its release.
China-Only Overwatch x Naraka: Bladepoint Crossover Event
To celebrate the relaunch of Overwatch, a cool collaboration with Naraka: Bladepoint has been announced. This event lets players transform D.Va, Freja, Widowmaker, Reaper, and Wuyang into characters from the Naraka: Bladepoint world, with new skins and other cosmetic items. However, there’s a catch: this event is currently only available to players in China, and there are no plans to release it in other regions, even though Naraka: Bladepoint is played worldwide. This means these special Overwatch skins can only be earned in China.
- Feria Shen D.Va
- Wei Qing Freja
- Yueshan Reaper
- Viper Ning Widowmaker

Naraka: Bladepoint is a fast-paced battle royale game inspired by Wuxia martial arts. Developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase (who also handle Overwatch in China), it lets players choose from 22 characters, each with a special ability and three powerful ultimate moves. Players then compete in matches with up to 60 people. While incredibly popular in China, Naraka: Bladepoint also has a strong player base around the world.

The collaboration between Overwatch and Naraka: Bladepoint is particularly impressive thanks to its high production values. The character skins are beautifully made, rivaling even the most detailed Legendary and Mythic skins in Overwatch. What’s more, the crossover featured a fantastic four-minute cinematic trailer showcasing characters from both games, which first appeared on Chinese social media before being shared on Twitter by Overwatch Cavalry.
Okay, so this isn’t the first time Blizzard has done something special just for Chinese players in Overwatch. I remember back in late 2025, they had the Black Claw Archives event where we could snag some really cool skins like Demon Hunter Sombra, Thunder Doomfist, and Lilith Moira – if you were playing in China, of course. And before that, in February 2025, they actually released Loverwatch, which was basically a whole new dating sim game just for Chinese players, building on a mini-game they’d given us for Valentine’s Day a couple years before. It’s not just Overwatch either. Blizzard and NetEase have done region-specific stuff in other games too, like those new Titan Reforged World of Warcraft Classic servers and the awesome Lunar New Year cosmetics for regular WoW.
Image via Blizzard, NetEase It sounds like the initial collaboration between Overwatch and Naraka: Bladepoint was intended only for players in China, with no current plans to expand it worldwide. While things could change, fans shouldn’t expect it to happen. However, there’s a possibility that Naraka: Bladepoint will release *Overwatchthemed skins in its own game globally, but that’s still unconfirmed.
Overwatch’s Other Active Collaboration Event

Plus, by completing challenges during the event (before it ends on February 24th), you can unlock Name Cards, Sanrio Sprays, a special player title, and Battle Pass XP.
