How to Get the Gravitino Coil in No Man’s Sky

The recent Remnant Update to No Man’s Sky introduces a new job: cleaning up space junk! Players can now act as intergalactic garbage collectors using a new tool called the Gravitino Coil. This is an upgrade for your Multi-Tool, and you’ll need to find its Blueprint and gather the necessary materials to craft it. This guide will explain how to get and use the Gravitino Coil in No Man’s Sky.

Where To Get The Gravitino Coil Blueprint In No Man’s Sky

You can buy the blueprint for the Gravitino Coil at The Anomaly, the main hub in No Man’s Sky. The Anomaly can be accessed from anywhere in space, and you’ll purchase the blueprint from Iteration: Eos, the NPC who handles Multi-Tool research.

To find Eos, go up the ramp on the left side of the nexus. When you reach the big hallway, turn left and walk towards the floating model of the anomaly. You’ll see several characters at stations, and Eos will be on your right.

You can unlock the Blueprint for the Gravitino Coil by first obtaining the Advanced Mining Laser. It costs 520 Nanites to unlock the blueprint.

How To Craft The Gravitino Coil In No Man’s Sky

The following materials are required to craft the Gravitino Coil in No Man’s Sky:

  • x3 Magnetic Resonator
  • x1 Gravitino Ball
  • x50 Chromatic Metal

Once players have all these components, they can install the Gravitino Coil on their Multi-Tool.

If you’re running out of space in your Multi-Tool, you can buy an extra slot at any Space Station using Units. Just find the Multi-Tool Upgrade Station there.

How To Get The Magnetic Resonators

You can buy the Magnetic Resonator Blueprint at the Synthesis Laboratory, which is located next to Eos. It costs 250 Nanites.

To craft one Magnetic Resonator, players will need:

  • x40 Magnetized Ferrite
  • x40 Ionized Cobalt

As three Resonators are required, 120 of each of these resources is required.

  • Magnetized Ferrite can be refined from Pure Ferrite, or from Ferrite Dust plus something like Copper.
  • Ionized Cobalt can be purchased from Galactic Trade Terminals at Space Stations for Units, or it can be refined from Cobalt or Cobalt and Oxygen for a greater yield.

How To Get The Gravitino Ball

You can find Gravitino Balls on planets that are guarded by hostile sentinels. When you scan a planet from a distance, you’ll be able to see if it has sentinels.

Okay, so I’ve learned that if I use my Analysis Visor, I need to look for a yellow diamond shape – it’s got a little sphere inside, and it marks a Sentient Plant. Now, here’s the tricky part: if I grab a Gravitino Ball from one of these plants, the sentinels will start chasing me! I definitely need to keep my ship close by so I can make a quick getaway.

Gravitino Balls can also be found at Ancient Ruins or farmed from the Gravitino Host plant.

How To Get The Chromatic Metal

Chromatic Metal is created by refining stellar metals, and Copper is the most frequently used material for this process. You’ll need 100 Copper to create one unit of Chromatic Metal, as the refining ratio is 2:1.

Copper deposits can be found on many planets.

How To Use The Gravitino Coil In No Man’s Sky

Okay, so after you get the Gravitino Coil, just keep hitting ‘G’ to cycle through your Multi-Tool options until it’s selected. That’s how I equip it!

To get Industrial Waste, either use your scanner to locate some, or go to a Waste Processing Plant. The game will mark the closest plant on your map once you’ve built the gravity gun.

To use the Gravitino Coil, right-click on an item to grab it with gravity. You can then carry it to where it needs to go. Left-click to throw the item, aiming for the correct disposal area at the plant. You can also right-click again to simply drop the item.

You can also throw other objects with the gravity gun, and maybe even create a brand new sport in the process.
