- Late March update includes new main story quests and the challenging Cruiserweight raids.
- Cosmic Exploration and Occult Crescent will launch four weeks apart in Patch 7.2.
Prior to the airing of the 86th installment of Letter From The Producer Live, the esteemed producer and director Naoki Yoshida hinted that Patch 7.2 for Final Fantasy 14 would offer an unprecedented volume of content within the game. In other words, get ready to explore fresh main story quests, a brand-new raid tier, as well as additional activities tailored for crafters, gatherers, and players with a combat focus, in Patch 7.2 of Final Fantasy 14.
Seekers of Eternity, is set to launch in late March. This update will bring several key changes and additions, with some features being rolled out over multiple patches. The initial release will include adjustments to jobs, new main story quests that feature a dungeon and a trial, as well as the next installment of the Arcadian raid series.
The upcoming tier of the Arcadian raids, known as the Cruiserweight division, will test players’ teamwork and reaction times, with tougher damage checks compared to the Light-Heavyweight tier. The Savage fights for the Cruiserweight division will become available a week after the Normal mode has been released, giving Final Fantasy 14’s raiding teams additional time to prepare for an intricate multiplayer event.
As a dedicated fan, I’m eagerly awaiting the Live Letter broadcast on March 14 at 6:00 AM Eastern, where we’ll get insights into Patch 7.2 for Final Fantasy 14. In an exclusive interview with Famitsu, translated by the r/FFXIV subreddit, Yoshida revealed that two key features of Patch 7.2 – Cosmic Exploration and the Occult Crescent field operation – will be rolled out one month apart. This implies that Cosmic Exploration is expected around four weeks post-release of Patch 7.2, followed by the launch of the Occult Crescent a month later. Additionally, Cosmic Tools and Phantom Relic Weapon quests will become available once their respective content becomes live. The magnitude of content in Patch 7.2 is such that Yoshida described Seekers of Eternity as offering “the largest amount of content yet” for Final Fantasy 14 players to immerse themselves in.
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2 May Be The Largest Content Drop To Date
- Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2 will have content scattered over several weeks.
- Late March will see the arrival of new main story quests and the Arcadion’s Cruiserweight raids.
- Cosmic Exploration and the Occult Crescent field operation will launch four weeks apart.
- Final Fantasy 14’s 7.2 update will also include Job adjustments and a “jog” function in cities.
In addition to cosmic expeditions, players can expect to engage with the Mamool Ja allied society’s missions as well. The latest update for Final Fantasy 14, titled Seekers of Eternity, will bring forth changes in PVE and PVP roles, featuring the introduction of the Pictomancer. Moreover, a new “jog” feature will be introduced, enabling players who use Sprint within a city or hub to maintain a brisk pace after the sprint effect ceases.
In the upcoming Patch 7.3, additional elements such as the Raid Whiteboard and a fresh Deep Dungeon are set to debut. This patch is expected to be released between August and September of 2025. With the abundance of content approaching for Final Fantasy 14, it remains to be seen how the post-game features of Dawntrail will stack up against previous expansions like Stormblood and Shadowbringers.
