Epic Games Store Officially Reveals 2 Freebies for February 19

This February 19th, the Epic Games Store is giving away two free games: Return to Ash and the Stalcraft: X Starter Pack. These games have a combined value of over $120.

Epic Games Store users recently claimed Botany Manor and a Pixel Gun 3D add-on pack, worth almost $50, as free games. That offer ended today, February 19th, and two new free games are now available. Epic also revealed what free games will be offered next week, as they usually do when a giveaway starts.

Return to Ash Headlines Epic Games Store’s February 19 Giveaway

I was so excited to see what free games were being offered this month! The big one is definitely Return to Ash. It’s a really interesting visual novel, all in black and white, about a girl who finds herself in the afterlife. You get to explore this strange new world with her, meet some unique characters, and your choices actually matter – they decide how her story ends! It’s made by Serenity Forge, a studio out in Colorado that focuses on games that really make you think. And the cool thing is, this is the first time Return to Ash has ever been free on the Epic Games Store, since it only came out in July 2025.

On February 19th, players will also receive the Starter Pack DLC for the free-to-play game Stalcraft X. This online shooter combines the blocky style of Minecraft with the post-apocalyptic world of STALKER. Developed by EXBO, it launched in December 2022 and reached a peak of over 40,000 players on Steam two years later. While it currently has a “Mixed” rating based on over 15,100 reviews, Return to Ash has a “Very Positive” rating, though with far fewer than 100 reviews.

The Starter Pack will be available starting February 19th, just one day after Stalcraft: X launches on the Epic Games Store. This pack costs $24.99 and includes useful items like weapons, armor, character customizations, and special artifacts. It also comes with a seven-day Premium subscription, making it a great way for new players to get started.

Epic Games Store users can currently get two free detective games: Nobody Wants to Die and The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark. While both involve solving mysteries, they offer very different experiences. Nobody Wants to Die is a futuristic adventure set in New York City in the year 2329. In this world, the rich can live forever by transferring their minds into new bodies. You play as detective James Karra, investigating a serial killer targeting the city’s wealthiest residents. With a story reminiscent of Blade Runner and Minority Report, the game features a tech noir atmosphere and multiple endings based on your choices.

In contrast, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark is a much lighter game. It’s a point-and-click adventure made up of short, self-contained cases. Players take on the role of Detective Francis McQueen, a cynical investigator solving strange, supernatural mysteries in the city of Twin Lakes. Released in April 2021, A Fumble in the Dark continues the story from Spooky Doorway’s 2017 game, The Darkside Detective, which was also recently available for free on the Epic Games Store in early December 2025.
