As a seasoned gamer with decades of dungeon-crawling under my belt, I must say that the Belega Corridor in Metaphor: ReFantazio is a delightful challenge for those who relish the thrill of exploration and discovery. The side quest issued by Brigitta, the Igniter shop owner in Grand Trad, adds an extra layer of intrigue to this labyrinthine dungeon.
In the game ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’, the Belega Corridor is among the early optional dungeons, offering a glimpse into the game’s content. A sub-quest known as Bullish Embargo is given by Brigitta, the proprietor of Igniter shop in Grand Trad. She asks the main character to vanquish the Guptauros residing within the Belega Corridor dungeon. The compensation? A substantial amount of money and a fresh Archetype – the Merchant.
Before players get to engage with the fearsome Guptauros, they’ll first need to traverse the intricate, labyrinthine lair that conceals him. For the diligent explorers, this very labyrinth can prove a serendipitous encounter due to the numerous hidden treasures within its recesses.
Belega Corridor Guide in Metaphor: ReFantazio
In the Belega Corridor Dungeon, you’ll find six chests filled with assorted loot just waiting to be collected. Follow this guide for a step-by-step process to grab it all.
Treasure Chest 1
Beginning at the dungeon’s entrance, head straight and grab the item located on your right side. For the time being, disregard the stairs and select the path adjacent to it. After you pass two Goborns, make a right turn and you’ll come across a treasure chest, which is guarded by two more Goborns. Overcome these monsters and unlock the chest to acquire the Balm of Life.
Go back to where you started and walk down the staircase to the second level. Talk to the Midlife Adventurer near the column to get 3x Spectacular Arrows. Proceed ahead, pick up the blue object lying on the floor. A secret tunnel is on your right that leads to the initial part of the dungeon—avoid it and retrace your path instead.
Ensure that no member of your party is using the Healer or Mage character classes in the Belega Corridor, as the creatures within this dungeon, including the final boss, will go into a frenzy if either of these class types are present during battle. This berserk state significantly boosts their damage output and aggression level, making encounters significantly more challenging, particularly on higher difficulty settings.
Treasure Chest 2
On the upper level, you’ll find an isolated space on your left with just one blue object and some goblins. Clean that area up and move forward. Disregard the locked room on the left as it cannot be accessed from here. Instead, use the stairs on the right to ascend to the third floor.
On the current level, head in a downward direction, and you’ll come across a stairway to your right. This path will take you back to the room on the second floor that was locked before. Climb up these stairs and vanquish the Goborns residing there to secure the Damascus Vest, which boasts a Defense of 123 and an Evasion rating of 1.
Goborns are weak to poison and paralysis. Use Stunning Arrows to make fights easier.
Treasure Chest 3 + 4
Make your way back to the third floor, then follow the path to the right which will lead you to a spacious room filled with several Goborns. On the edge of this room, towards the left, you’ll see a blue item nestled among wooden barrels. Knock over these barrels to uncover a concealed passage behind them. Proceed along this path, turning right when possible, to discover a Golden Beetle. Upon looking back, you’ll find two treasure chests waiting for you – the first containing the Witch’s Earring (with a magical bonus of +3), and the second housing an Aquamarine. Grab the blue item on your left and retrace your steps through the secret tunnel to get back to the main room.
Treasure Chest 5 + 6
Following your victory against the Goborns, make your way north towards a spiral staircase leading down to the fourth level. Eliminate any foes blocking your path in a tight corridor and ascend the stairs at the opposite end to re-enter a distinct part of the third floor. Utilize Gallica’s unique vision to expose a concealed tunnel lining one of the walls, which will help you navigate to a secret room with two trunks. One chest contains the Guard Chausses (needs purification), and the other holds an Imp-Ending Pike (Attack 120, Hit 90, also needs purification).
Final Battle
Go back a bit and find the staircase on the left side. Climb those stairs until you reach the room prior to battling the Grotesque Guptauros. Talk to More’s pet cat to save your game, and then engage the wooden door to initiate the final fight.
