I’ve seen many players hoard resources like precious gems, but my personal favorite is acid if you’ve got the Sulfur Chemist specialization.
In the same vein as many other games, Once Human incorporates an in-game resource known as Energy links. These energy links serve multiple purposes such as trading with fellow players or enhancing weapons, modifications, and armor. Initially, these resources might appear plentiful, but they quickly dwindle as you progress and start upgrading your character’s equipment.
To effectively play the game, it’s crucial to stay connected with every potential source for acquiring Energy Links.
Having clocked in over 900 hours within the realm of “Once Human”, I feel confident in stating that energy links play a crucial role, whether it’s for Player versus Player (PvP) or Player versus Environment (PvE) gameplay scenarios.
Let’s go through the various ways you can obtain Energy Links in the game without further ado.
6 Securement Silos and Monoliths
Farming Energy links is most effectively done using Securement Silos and Monoliths because they allow for the simultaneous collection of materials. Remarkably, you can skip using controllers altogether in this process. Even if you opt for the Min-Gain option within the treasure chest at the dungeon’s end, you’ll still receive the same rewards; however, the rewards might be slightly less compared to those obtained with controller usage.
As a gamer, I wouldn’t recommend tackling a tougher Securement Silo or Monolith unless your character’s build is equipped to handle it. Going for higher difficulty levels might drain your resources faster.
Collaborating with other players or creating your team to clear the dungeons faster is good.
5 World Events
Exploring real-life incidents such as Dig To Hell, Paradise Lost, Operation Chiron, Close Encounter: Manibus, The Dark Side, and Where Does Disco Go? offers a wealth of information about daily operations and energy connections. By clicking on an event, you can delve into the specifics and instantaneously travel to the location.
If you lack manpower, send the Combat invitation to the world chat, and people will show up.
Beyond these options, you’re also capable of conducting as many as five ‘Mission Events’. These events are filled with swarms of adversaries that, when vanquished, grant you various rewards such as Deviations and Energy bonds.
Finally, Primewars’ containers provide you with Energy links, calibrations, and additional resources such as Barreled Premium Fuel.
You can get up to 3 controllers a day with Public Crisis Events.
4 Story, Side Missions, and Commissions
Completing the primary quests and side activities awards a massive experience boost. Alternatively, concentrating on accomplishing the Journey objectives will yield rewards like Starchrome, Energy Links, and Controllers.
Each week, completing missions grants you controllers, experience points (EXP), and energy links. These tasks can range from simple tasks like taking photographs to more challenging ones such as defeating 20 Rosetta soldiers. You have the option to renew the commissions on the commission board and choose the ones that fit your objectives.
Completing commissions that involve making ammunition or using activators is possible simply by engaging with the gameplay.
3 In-Game Trading Market
From my perspective, there’s simply no match for in-game trading when it comes to resource management. A highly effective method to accumulate Energy Links is by selling acid, especially if you possess the Sulfur Chemist specialization.
For each acid you wish to produce, you’ll need 50 Energy Links. The market conditions on your server may vary, so feel free to establish the selling price of acid between 65 and 75 Energy Links in your vending machine for other players to purchase.
In addition to regular items like tools, ammunition, supplies, and utensils, as well as rare finds such as Backpack expansions, various things can be sold in the vending machines. Among these, calibrations are particularly sought-after. The value of these items may differ based on your server’s economic conditions.
Note: Avoid doing RMT (real money trading) in the game
2 Unique Specializations
Specializations like Combo chipsets and Precious metal refining are very useful for one of your hive members. I recommend prioritizing the Precious metal refining since the Combo chipset consumes Electronic parts, which can be used to build facilities and Smart Tungsten AP ammo.
A combo chipset or, Gold ingot can be sold for 12,000 Energy links, whereas a Silver Ingot sells for 6,000 Energy links.
Consider focusing on mining Silver Ores and trading them for Silver Ignots, because Gold Ores are useful for creating Solar Drills, ammunition, and exclusive items.
1 NPC Vendors At Strongholds
In the Manibus scenario, each Vendor offers a maximum of 50,000 Energy Links. With five Union Strongholds, this means you could potentially obtain 250,000 Energy Links every week. If you don’t have specialized skills like Combo Chipset or Precious Metal Refining, you can still earn by selling crafted ingots or materials that are easy to acquire.
One of the easiest ways to get Energy links from NPCs is to sell ingots made with Electric furnaces. With better Electric furnace buffs, you can mass produce low-tier Copper and Bronze ingots and sell them.
