In the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio“, Junah stands out among the party members as he doesn’t forge a bond with the protagonist naturally during the main narrative.

To make her join your group as a Follower and to reveal the Masked Dancer character type, you must finish a mission first.

The procedure is straightforward, and elevating Junah’s Bond level offers significant benefits because her talent replenishes MP for the entire team following fights – a crucial resource in this game, as you well know.

As a nidia, Junah was aware that some might perceive her as a fraud or untrustworthy. To counteract this, she chose to express her thoughts in melodious tunes, thereby stirring the emotions of the masses.

For an extended period, she accompanied Louis on his political journey, leading some to assume that they were romantically linked. However, even though she often played coy and joked around with the main character, this did not deter people from speculating about their relationship.

Without many knowing about it, it so happened that Junah and the main character were members of the same resistance group. Their paths intersected coincidentally as they both found themselves running away from Glodell, a henchman of Louis, at the same time.

Junah awakens to the Archetype’s power during the encounter, unlocking the Masked Dancer. She joins the group on a whim but gradually becomes more invested in the protagonist’s ideals and causes.

Junah’s Bond Ranks Explained

To achieve Junah’s highest level of skill, it’s essential that you accumulate a total of four points in the ability called Imagination. Once you have done this, you can interact socially with the nighttime songstress during the Gauntlet Runner challenge, which will help boost her rank further.

During the game, Junah enters the party roughly halfway through, following the Skyrunner Charadrius event. Notably, there’s no connection to the main storyline here. To initiate her bond, you’ll need to complete a quest first. However, all subsequent interactions with her will take place in the stationary Gauntlet Runner.

You’ll need to finish the “Ancestral Solution” quest first, and that involves brewing a Potion of Blight on Virga Island, before you can establish a new relationship with Junah.

Later on, prior to visiting the Dragon Temple, you have the opportunity to chat with Junah who will give you a mission titled “Save the Mourning Snakes”. This task involves venturing to the Orbwise Path map where you’ll need to eradicate some creatures. The instructions are simple and primarily entail cleaning out the dungeon.

It appears that among the residents of Virga Island, there are individuals who admire Junah, and they have expressed worries regarding creatures disturbing the tombs at Orbwise Path.

Following the clearance of the dungeon, Junah designates the protagonist as her personal bodyguard, indicating that they share a common objective and therefore establish a new bond with the minstrel, symbolized by music.

In a jiffy, Junah extends an invitation to the main character for a retail adventure in the charming town of Brilehaven. Not much time passes before they are noticed by an enthusiastic admirer of Nidia, who is delighted when Junah breaks into a brief impromptu song.

It doesn’t take much time for Junah to gain attention from ordinary people, causing her and the protagonist to move away from the main street. However, a kind-hearted merchant named Capra approaches Junah instead.

He comments that he honors the laborers’ prosperity with an annual festival and invites Junah to be the singer this year, which she promptly accepts.

In Brilehaven, Junah began getting ready for the festival, but the main character momentarily lost track of her. From the side, he noticed a child who bore a strong resemblance to her, however, it wasn’t long before Junah came back again.

According to Capra, the dress Junah wore last year is being readied for him to don again this year, and things seem to be going well in the process.

Until a woman named Myrtus, who had been the principal singer at the previous year’s festival, emerges to curse Junah for hogging the limelight and accusing her of theft. (Capra mentions this.)

Junah remains unfazed by Myrtus’ threats and expresses that the larger the obstacle, the stronger her resolve becomes.

To advance in rank, you must score at least four points in the Imagination category. Now, the two of them are quickly making their way to Brilehaven, as the performance is about to commence. Just by being there, Junah seems to be drawing quite an audience.

She informs the main character that his job involves both being an escort and a protector. As soon as Capra alerts him about Myrtus being present among the spectators, he begins searching for her right away.

Without any hiccups, Junah’s act concludes triumphantly. Notably, our main character eventually locates Myrtus, who had planned to scatter erika blossoms across the stage – a plan that was momentarily disrupted when Junah began to sing.

Junah’s melody delighted the workers, making Myrtus doubt her own judgment. The roussainte has decided to go back to the countryside.

A thrilled Junah encounters the main character behind the scenes as a kind individual offers a comforting drink to the singer, who is also a devotee of righteousness.

Before I could even take a sip of this seemingly harmless drink from an oddly suspicious character, Myrtus suddenly appears and scares him off. With the man running away, he ends up colliding with Myrtus, accidentally spilling the Erika flower poison on her instead.

The toxin spreads through Myrtus, damaging her throat and leaving her unable to speak. An antidote can only be made by crushing erika flowers, and Junah says she knows where to find them, even though she’s visibly terrified.

Junah requests that the main character step out for a moment so she can share a confidential detail about the nidias with him.

Upon his return, he finds the same girl resembling Nidia as before, who unexpectedly turns out to be the singer herself.

It’s explained that the entire Nidia tribe conceals their appearance in such a manner, as they resemble little kids. This way, people don’t perceive them as serious or important.

Later on, Junah elaborates further on her history, detailing the fact that she was once a slave but was later taken in by Rella’s family.

What she can recall is spending several days confined in a meadow filled with Erika blooms, feeling both chilly and famished. Her voice, the only solace, was what helped her maintain her sanity.

In a bid to confront her haunting past, Junah chooses to revisit the Erika flower field where she’ll assist Myrtus.

At last, they make their way to the Erika Flower Field, and Junah is overcome by memories of times gone by, murmuring that she seems to almost hear the tune of a song she once knew.

She successfully gathers all the needed Erika leaves without becoming overly stressed, preserving the charm of her metamorphosis.

Having the cure, they administer it promptly to Myrtus who swallows it right away and recovers her speech. Roussainte expresses gratitude towards Junah, slightly bewildered by his unexpected act of benevolence.

Junah acknowledges that a singer’s voice carries great significance, expressing her hope to one day listen to Myrtus perform. However, Myrtus expresses regret and confesses feelings of envy, but recognizes the sincerity in Junah’s admiration as she sings.

They reconcile and plan for a musical competition in the future, vowing to continually hone their skills in the craft of music.

In the town of Brilehaven, Junah and the main character head to the Nightprowler venue to catch Myrtus’s performance. To everyone’s delight, Myrtus captivates the crowd with her winning act.
