Overwatch 2: Mythic Aspects, Explained

As a seasoned Overwatch 2 player with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the introduction of Mythic Aspects has been nothing short of exhilarating! These new collectibles have added a whole new layer of customization to an already vibrant and engaging game.

Overwatch 2 functions as a game with ongoing updates, introducing fresh elements in every Competitive Season. These updates may include Battle Pass themes, character outfits, temporary game modes, collaborations with other franchises, new mechanics, premium skins for heroes and weapons, and seasonal collectibles.

Beyond just enjoying the gameplay, fans of Overwatch take delight in amassing character skins and profile decorations showcasing their preferred heroes. These cosmetics come from various sources like Twitch drops, battle passes, shop purchases, as well as rarer versions such as Mythic Skins, OWL, and Champions skins. In the latest season of Overwatch 2 (Season 13), a new type of collectible item called Mythic Aspects has been added. If you’re curious about these items and how to get your hands on them, the guide below provides all the necessary details.

What Are Mythic Aspects In Overwatch 2?

In Overwatch 2, Mythic Aspects serve as a fresh type of collectible item that reside within the Mythic Store. Fundamentally, Mythic Aspects offer extra customization choices for the Mythic Skins you already possess. Once you’ve unlocked all previous tiers of a specific skin, you can utilize Mythic Prisms to access additional bonus tiers associated with those Mythic Aspects.

In the game, starting from Season 13, the initial collection of Mythic Elements is known as the “Gilded Style” or simply “Gilded Elements”. This new aesthetic provides a striking black and gold color scheme that can be applied to all existing and past Mythic hero skins, such as Spellbinder Widowmaker.

Mythic Prisms can be purchased by opening the Mythic Shop and scrolling down to the Aspects section of the store page, which will have all available options ready for preview and purchase by simply clicking on the tab for the Hero you wish to purchase it for. Every Mythic (Gilded) Aspect can be purchased for 10 Mythic Prisms each (which gives players another option for spending Mythic Prisms they earn through the Premium Battle Pass) or purchase in the Overwatch Store with real currency.

  3. Additional Mythic skin styles through Aspects

Currently, Overwatch 2 offers exclusively the Gilded style for its Mythic Aspect. Yet, with each subsequent Competitive Season, there’s a hint that additional styles might be introduced into the game.
