Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Confirms 4 X-Men for the Roster

Just as expected, Arc System Works used Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event to share more details about their upcoming fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, including when it will be released. Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the game since the first 8 characters were revealed and after participating in closed beta tests earlier this year. Now that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is set to launch in 2026, it was only a matter of time before we heard more.

Details about the upcoming game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls appeared online earlier than Sony and Arc System Works likely planned. After the February 12 PlayStation State of Play announcement, the game’s Steam page was quietly updated with new information. This confirmed that the game will launch with 20 playable heroes, support 64-player online lobbies, and require a PlayStation Network account for PC players. A single-player mode will also be included, offering an in-depth look at the game’s various teams, which are now becoming clearer thanks to the new trailer.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Release Date

  • August 6, 2026

At Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event on February 12, 2026, a new 2-minute trailer for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was shown, revealing a lot of details about the game. The trailer began on Chandilar, the home planet of the Shi’ar, and showed what looked like Deathbird and Gladiator before the planet was destroyed. It then moved to Earth, where a purple storm appeared, offering players their first look at the game’s main storyline.

The latest trailer introduced the full team of playable characters, known as the Unbreakable X-Men. Players had previously seen Storm, but she’s now joined by Wolverine, Magik, and a unique character named Danger. While Wolverine, Storm, and Magik are well-known from other games and stories, Danger is different – she’s the living version of the X-Mansion’s Danger Room, a training facility for the X-Men. First appearing in the comic series Astonishing X-Men in 2005, Danger came to life through advanced Shi’ar technology. The trailer showcased each character’s powerful special and ultimate moves, culminating in a spectacular team attack featuring all four heroes.

A new blog post shared details about the game’s Episode Mode, a unique story experience created through a partnership between Arc System Works and Marvel Games. It will combine the styles of American comics and Japanese manga, using motion comics created by well-known artists to tell the story. The narrative is written by a famous writer who worked on the original Marvel comics.
