Okay, so I’m super excited because Neva is getting new content on February 19th! As someone who absolutely loved playing it last year – seriously, it’s one of my favorite indie games from 2024 – this is awesome news. Nomada Studio is releasing a prologue as a separate DLC, and I can’t wait to jump back in and experience even more of the world before the month ends!
Wow, Sony’s State of Play in February 2026 was incredible! I was completely shocked when the God of War spin-off just dropped out of nowhere, and it’s amazing to see a new Castlevania game after so many years. But it wasn’t just the big names – there were a ton of awesome indie games too, like a sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits and a new project from the Shovel Knight team! If you’re a Neva fan, you’ll be really happy to hear that game is coming out in less than a week, which is amazing!
Neva Prologue Releases on February 19, 2026
It’s been a while since Neva received any significant updates – the last major one was in late 2024 – so the news of a prologue releasing on February 19th was a great surprise. Although it might not be as widely known as other games featured at State of Play, this new content is exciting for fans of the Princess Mononoke-inspired puzzle platformer. Neva has already earned recognition, winning the Games for Impact award at the 2024 Game Awards and receiving nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Independent Game. The game tells the story of Alba and her magical wolf, Neva, as they struggle to save a world falling apart. Praised for its beautiful art style, moving story, and captivating music, the announcement of more Neva content is a welcome and unexpected treat.

The new prologue will reveal how Alba and Neva met and developed their close relationship, which is central to the game’s story. Nomada Studio promises three fresh locations, each with its own gameplay challenges, as well as new enemies and collectibles for dedicated players. This expansion is substantial considering the main story of Neva takes only four hours to finish, and a full completionist run takes around six. Adding depth to Alba and Neva’s history is a great addition to a game already known for its compelling narrative.
Although revealed during the PlayStation State of Play event, the prologue for Neva isn’t exclusive to PS5. It will also be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game’s reveal trailer quietly showed logos for all these platforms alongside the release date. Nomada Studio hasn’t announced the price of the prologue, but since the full game costs only $20, it’s expected to be reasonably priced.
As a PlayStation player, I’m still hyped about this game, and Sony just dropped some good news during the State of Play! They announced that Neva is hitting PS Plus Extra next month, along with a bunch of other titles. If you’re an Extra or Premium member, now’s a great time to jump in if you haven’t yet. Honestly, it’s only been a couple of months into 2026, but it’s already looking like an amazing year for gaming, with both new releases and older games getting some love.
