In the game ‘ReFantazio’, it’s crucial to locate top-notch armor and weapons to build a formidable party in an RPG setting, similar to how a blacksmith forges strong weapons. Additionally, players can discover accessories reminiscent of those found in other RPGs like Atlus’ ‘Persona’ series.
As a gamer in ReFantazio, the type of armor and weapons I can strap on is determined by my chosen Archetype or class. Yet, unlike these essential items, accessories aren’t as strictly bound. There are a handful of exceptions for character-specific trinkets, but generally speaking, the accessory system offers more freedom when it comes to outfitting my character for battle. The game is packed with discoveries in its early stages, so let’s delve into where I can score the best accessories and learn how to employ them tactically for a strategic edge in combat.
6 Plague Mask
Prevent Poison
- Location: Grand Trad (Gloamhall)
You can buy the Plague Mask at Gloamhall, an accessory store within Grand Trad, but only during the nighttime hours. This pattern of nocturnal operation is typical among accessory stores as you progress through your adventure. The Plague Mask has a unique function: it shields the wearer from being poisoned.
In Gloamhall, you’ll find items that shield against various debilitating conditions such as Paralysis, Hex, Daze, and Forget. It’s wise to be prepared when dealing with bosses or marked targets that are known for causing specific status effects. Although it can be expensive, players might want to consider accumulating four of each protective item they encounter.
5 Phantasmal Doll
Gain An Extra Turn
- Location: Grand Trad (Gloamhall)
The Mystical Doll is available for purchase at Gloamhall as well, but unlike protective items, it moves much faster. However, it won’t appear immediately; instead, expect it to show up approximately when players have cleared the initial grand dungeon known as the Regalith Grand Cathedral. By then, players might have accumulated enough funds for it or they could find it on sale during a special promotional day.
The Mystical Doll grants characters an additional opportunity to take action during their turn. However, having all four members of your team equipped with this item doesn’t allow them to act consecutively eight times, as that could disrupt the game balance. Instead, it provides two extra turns for the character wearing the item, thus disrupting the usual turn sequence. Although it’s not as powerful as getting eight turns, it can be beneficial, especially for crucial party members like the healer.
4 Penumbra Igniter
Cast Dark Magic On All Enemies

Much like the popular Persona series, there are powers based on elements that players can utilize to expose an enemy’s vulnerabilities. For instance, in the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, there is a fire-based spell called Bot. This spell can be mastered through the Mage Archetype. Gamers have the option to learn various spells from the class-based Archetype system or they can use accessories known as Igniters to achieve this.
In the game, igniters grant characters a single special spell, while lesser ones can only hit one opponent. However, within the Lycaon Magic Association in Grand Trad, more powerful equipment like the Penumbra Igniter is purchased, which unleashes a dark-based spell named Mage Underworld on all enemies. To reach this store, players must initially accomplish Brigitta’s side quest known as A Bullish Embargo first.
3 Gambler’s Jewel
Adds +3 Luck
- Location: Regalith Grand Cathedral
Initially, The Gambler’s Jewel might appear to be a harmless item that merely enhances abilities. However, in ReFantazio, it specifically amplifies your Luck stat by 3. Similarly, the Courier’s Anklet and Witch’s Earring can respectively boost Agility by 3 and Magic by 3.
In the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, the character Heismay holds the key to unlocking the Thief Archetype, which functions like thieves in other RPGs by enabling players to pilfer items from adversaries. However, it’s important to note that employing the Steal command doesn’t always result in a successful grab. Instead, there’s an element of chance, or as we might say, Luck, at play. The Gambler’s Jewel can then be utilized to enhance your character’s chances of successfully swiping items from enemies.
2 Twinkling Crystal

The Twinkling Crystal is easily one of the best accessories players can find in the early hours of the game. To get it, players must first embark on the side quest called A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake in Metaphor: ReFantazio which can be started in the city of Martira. This will take players to the Abandoned Tomb dungeon.
This side quest is beneficial as it grants access to Alonzo, one of Will’s companions, and obtaining the Twinkling Crystal enhances all your stats by two points. This bonus, coupled with other gear like the Brave Guards that also amplify stats by 2, allows players to develop a character with significant power in combat.
1 Rejuvenation Bell
Restore HP On Every Turn
- Location: Abandoned Tomb
You’ll have the chance to acquire the Rejuvenation Bell at a later time, and it’ll make its debut in the Abandoned Tomb. This charming trinket will provide a character with a small amount of healing during their turn, serving as a quick fix. Although its restorative power won’t be as potent as a healing spell or an item, any bit of healing administered during combat could potentially save a life.
In the game ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio‘, players can easily restart battles without incurring additional costs when things go wrong. Unlike other Soulslike games that aim to challenge unprepared players, ‘Metaphor: ReFantazie‘ doesn’t follow this pattern. However, obtaining accessories such as the Rejuvenation Bell and others listed is a smart move for gameplay.
