As a lifelong Dragon Ball fan who’s spent countless hours mastering each of these iconic characters, I find immense joy in exploring the less-traveled paths of this beloved universe – and that’s exactly what these underdog fighters offer!

The game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero boasts the biggest cast of any Dragon Ball game and one of the most extensive in the history of fighting games. Although a few crucial characters aren’t available at launch, almost every major fighter across the series is featured, ranging from the original Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Super. Despite its massive roster, players often find themselves immediately drawn to the powerhouses like Beerus, Ultra Instinct Goku, or SSJ4 Gogeta when they first start playing.

For more skilled gamers seeking a challenge, lesser-known characters offer an exciting alternative. Although they may not boast immense power, their movesets and animations have been thoughtfully designed. Moreover, these underdogs can lead to highly engaging battles.

5 Chiaotzu

Arguably The Weakest Z Fighter

Regrettably, despite his brave self-sacrifice during the Saiyan Saga, where he detonated himself to halt Nappa, Chiaotzu hasn’t received the recognition he deserves in either the anime or the manga. In comparison to many of his fellow Z Fighters, who have undergone numerous power-ups, Chiaotzu has largely been overlooked and not advanced as much.

Unfortunately, there’s little progress seen in the character known as Sparking! Zero, who unfortunately ranks among the least powerful characters within the game. He possesses some good special moves, with one that even paralyzes his adversary, but his overall damage potential is underwhelming. To add to the problem, his Ultimate Attack leads to his own demise as he perishes following its use.

4 Master Roshi

A Teacher Far Surpassed By His Students

Individuals who are fans of Dragon Ball Z and Super but haven’t watched the original Dragon Ball series might not fully grasp the significance of Master Roshi in the storyline. Being the first genuine martial arts mentor for Goku and Krillin, he imparted crucial skills to them, such as the famous Kamehameha move. However, once his students reached maturity and achieved immense power, Roshi chose a more tranquil lifestyle at the Kame House.

In the game “Sparking! Zero“, Master Roshi’s moveset and damage output are quite feeble, mirroring his character strength. Although he possesses some decent defensive capabilities, his attacks lack the punch to cause substantial harm. The most troubling aspect is that he cannot fly, placing him at a considerable disadvantage compared to many characters in the game. However, it should be noted that he can transform into his Max Power form, but even this transformation does not make him a significant threat in combat due to the relatively minor damage increase it provides.

3 Videl

Exceptional For A Human, But Still Not Strong Enough

In the world of Dragon Ball, Videl stands out as an exceptional fighter, notably due to her rigorous training under Gohan. Interestingly, despite being Mr. Satan’s daughter, she opted for Gohan as her mentor, who later became her spouse. Under his tutelage, she honed her ability to control Ki and even learned to fly. However, despite her remarkable skills, her power level is generally overshadowed by almost every other character in the series, particularly the non-human characters.

In “Sparking! Zero”, Videl demonstrates greater strength compared to her father, yet it’s not particularly impressive. She has a limited health capacity and inflicts only modest damage. Despite possessing an unexpectedly useful move-set – among them an ability to instantly activate Sparking! mode – she falls short in terms of raw power, making her less intimidating compared to the other characters within the game.

2 Saibaman

The Most Explosive Fighter, But Not In A Good Way

The Weakest Characters To Pick In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero If You Want A Challenge

Initially, the Saibamen were formidable opponents for the Z Fighters during the Saiyan Saga, capable of causing terror and even defeating Yamcha in one of the most memorable scenes from Dragon Ball history. However, in the series Sparking! Zero, they are more of a quirky choice rather than a significant combatant.

The only upside to this character is his speed; he’s more than fast enough to give inexperienced players a hard time dodging attacks. He also comes with a paralysis ability, but it’s very difficult to land. Easily the worst aspect of this character is his Ultimate Attack, which mirrors the anime by being self-destructive. What’s somewhat humorous about this move is that, if the opponent has a lot of health, it won’t even be strong enough to KO them, making it more of a gimmick than a viable strategy in basically anything other than DP Battles.

1 Mr. Satan

The Least Powerful, But Most Fun Character

It’s hardly surprising to anyone that Mr. Satan is the least powerful character in “Sparking! Zero”. After all, he’s one of the weakest characters in the series, though it’s often forgotten that for a human, he’s quite an accomplished fighter. However, when he’s surrounded by characters capable of destroying universes, he appears (and behaves) more like a jester.

In the game “Sparking! Zero“, Mr. Satan lacks many essential abilities such as flying and teleportation, and his attacks deal minimal damage. He’s quite feeble compared to other characters in the game. However, his one redeeming quality is his Ultimate Attack, which involves Majin Buu making a surprise appearance and carrying out most of the work. Unfortunately, even this move deals very little damage when compared to the other Ultimates in the game. If players are up for a tough fight in combat, then Mr. Satan is undoubtedly the character they should choose.
