Monkey D. Luffy, the main character in One Piece, seems to effortlessly draw in attractive and strong women thanks to his appealing personality. Though he doesn’t show romantic interest in anyone—and probably never will—the sheer number of women who are drawn to him would make even the most skilled flirt envious.
This article explores who might be Luffy’s love interest, just for fun. While many strong and interesting female characters appear in the story, a few stand out more than others. Although none have formed a clear romantic bond with Luffy, ranking them helps showcase what makes each one special.
Rebecca
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 704
Rebecca’s time as a gladiator in One Piece was incredibly difficult, but it surprisingly strengthened her bond with Luffy more than with any of his other crewmates. She deeply appreciated all of Luffy’s help and responded with unwavering loyalty and respect. Even when people claimed Luffy had kidnapped Vegapunk, she couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
Rebecca might not have the raw strength of the others, but she’s fast and agile enough to avoid attacks – even from someone like Hakuba – and protect herself. She’s not focused on offense; she’s a natural defender who uses her quick reflexes and agility to stay alive.
Nefertari Vivi
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 103
Vivi and Luffy had many sweet interactions throughout the Alabasta arc, though one memorable scene involved Luffy accidentally punching Vivi when she tried to handle her kingdom’s problems on her own. They also share a surprising connection – like Luffy, Vivi carries the mysterious ‘Will of D’.
Vivi is a capable fighter who can defend herself well. She developed her combat skills during her time with Baroque Works. Her determination shines through in every fight, proving she deserves her place among the Straw Hat Pirates.
Marguerite
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 514
Luffy caught the eye of Marguerite when she discovered him struggling with mushrooms sprouting all over his body. Surprisingly, it wasn’t Luffy as a man that she found appealing, but his distinctive golden hair. She felt a strong attraction to him, and the only way she could manage her feelings was by physically attacking him.
Similar to Boa Hancock, Marguerite is a powerful fighter who can use Armament Haki. She typically fights with a snake-shaped bow, shooting arrows enhanced with Haki at her enemies.
Nami
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 1
A lot of One Piece fans are rooting for Luffy and Nami to become a couple. They’ve been through so much together, facing incredible difficulties and building a strong, lasting connection based on trust and shared experiences throughout their journey on the Grand Line.
Nami has grown into a powerful and self-reliant fighter with the Straw Hat Pirates, especially after gaining Zeus as an ally. She’s no longer just a thief who relies on tricks; now, she’s capable of defeating strong opponents like members of the Tobiroppo and even giants from Elbaf!
Vinsmoke Reiju
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 826
Out of all the women listed, Vinsmoke Reiju is the only one who kissed Luffy, but it wasn’t a romantic moment. She did it to save him by removing a deadly poison from his system. Because she’s naturally skilled with poisons, it didn’t affect her, demonstrating her expertise and special abilities.
Of the Vinsmoke siblings who were experimented on by Judge, Reiju is unique – she’s the only one who kept her human side while still gaining powerful genetic improvements. These changes allow her to use poison effectively in combat, whether it’s releasing poisonous fumes or resisting even the most dangerous toxins.
Carrot
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 804
While not as widely discussed as other potential romantic pairings for Luffy in One Piece, some fans still hope to see Carrot and Luffy end up together. They point to the frequent physical affection between the two, particularly Carrot’s habit of hugging Luffy and playfully nibbling on his ears, as evidence of a possible connection.
I’ve seen Carrot fight, and she’s a really skilled warrior, which isn’t surprising for a mink. Even in her normal form, she’s strong enough to surprise someone like Zoro, and she cleverly managed to defeat Charlotte Brulee by using Brulee’s own abilities against her. But when she transforms into her Sulong form, she gets even faster and stronger, easily handling several members of the Big Mom Pirates.
Nico Robin
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 114
Similar to the popular pairing of Nami with Luffy, many fans also hope to see Luffy and Robin together. Their dynamic is appealing – Robin often takes on a big sister role with Luffy. They have a strong mutual respect, and their connection deepens as they face challenges and share adventures.
I’m a huge Robin fan, and it’s amazing how deadly she is! Her Devil Fruit, the Hana Hana no Mi, gives her such a unique and powerful skillset as an assassin. Everyone’s been waiting for her to learn Haki, but honestly, she’s already proven she’s a force to be reckoned with – her intelligence and control over her powers make her easily one of the most dangerous members of the Straw Hats!
Boa Hancock
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 516
Boa Hancock is completely infatuated with Luffy, acting like a dedicated fan. She’s so possessive that she’d likely defeat anyone who tried to get close to him. Fortunately, she’s incredibly powerful, mastering all three forms of Haki.
Boa Hancock, captain of the Kuja Pirates, is incredibly powerful and has repeatedly demonstrated her strength. Even a dangerous pirate like Blackbeard recognizes that she could defeat him in a single blow, highlighting her immense power and skill with her Devil Fruit ability.
Luffy doesn’t reciprocate her feelings, as his priority remains achieving his lifelong dream of becoming the Pirate King. And, quite simply, he loves meat more.
Uta
- First Appearance: One Piece Chapter 1055
No discussion of Luffy would be complete without mentioning Uta, his childhood friend and the adopted daughter of Shanks. They had a competitive relationship, and Uta often won when they challenged each other.
In One Piece Film: Red, Uta gained her powers by eating the Uta Uta no Mi devil fruit. She then unleashed the Tot Musica, a tremendously powerful being known as the Demon King of Songs. It took the combined forces of the Straw Hat Pirates and the Red-Hair Pirates to defeat it.
