This post contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
As I’ve been watching Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s clear that all eyes are on Yuji Itadori. Every single thing he does gets a lot of attention from fans, and that’s been consistent throughout the series, including this third season which has covered a lot of ground. We first saw him being pursued by Yuta Okkotsu in the very first episode of Season 3, and a lot has happened since then. Right now, he’s trapped inside the first Tokyo Colony. And in Episode 7 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, we finally learned something truly surprising about Yuji.
Itadori Yuji’s Father Was Finally Revealed In Culling Game
- Jin Itadori Is Yuji’s Father
- Kenjaku took over Kaori’s body
During the Culling Game arc, a past conversation between Yuji’s father, Jin Itadori, and Yuji’s grandfather, Wasuke, was revealed. Jin was discussing his wife, Kaori, with Wasuke, and became upset with Wasuke’s assessment of her. Yuji, as a child, made it clear he wouldn’t tolerate any negativity towards his mother and threatened to leave if Wasuke continued to speak ill of her. Jin also worried that Yuji might remember the conversation.
Because their time together was brief, it was hard to get a real sense of who Jin was as a person. However, he seemed like a devoted father and husband. He was very protective of his son, Yuji, and wanted him to have a happy childhood. He also clearly loved and cared for Kaori deeply.
Kenjaku Had Taken Over Kaori’s Body
At the start of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 7, Kenjaku spoke with Sasaki, explaining the effort he put into creating the barrier and offering a single opportunity for escape. Gsh acknowledged this, and Kenjaku began leading her out. Before Sasaki lost consciousness, Kenjaku thanked her for her friendship with his son. Though he didn’t say his son’s name, Sasaki realized he was referring to Itadori Yuji.
This new information confirms that Kenjaku was controlling Kaori Itadori, which was already suspected. This means Kenjaku is actually Yuji Itadori’s parent. While Kenjaku expressed gratitude to Sasaki, it’s clear he doesn’t genuinely care about Yuji, as he’s a calculating person focused solely on his own ambitions.
Kenjaku Is The Main Villain Of Culling Game
Kenjaku Will Ruin Humanity Forever
The competition, known as the Culling Game, is underway, with many sorcerers, both experienced and new, battling for points. In the recent events, Yuji found himself fighting a pair of jujutsu sorcerers. While Yuji tried to avoid lethal force, his opponents were determined to win at any cost, meaning they intended to kill. However, Yuji quickly overcame them, defeating both in just a few minutes. It’s disturbing to see people reduced to hunting each other, and it’s all due to the twisted goals of Kenjaku.
It’s well known that Kenjaku aims to force humanity to evolve, and he’s prepared to do almost anything to achieve this. According to Tengen, Kenjaku has been working towards this goal for centuries. After being defeated twice by someone with Six Eyes, Kenjaku initially tried to kill the next user, but when that failed, he switched tactics and decided to seal them away instead. Things then started to go his way when Toji Fushiguro killed the Star Plasma Vessel, disrupting a long-standing cycle.
After destroying the Star Plasma Vessel, Kenjaku’s main goal was to trap Gojo Satoru, but he anticipated a difficult fight. To achieve this, he enlisted the help of Mahito and his allies, triggering the Shibuya Incident. Kenjaku had carefully studied Gojo’s vulnerabilities and devised a plan that ultimately succeeded in sealing him away in the Prison Realm. With Gojo neutralized, Kenjaku could move forward with his plans, focusing on Tengen now that the Culling Game had begun. Tengen understood Kenjaku’s intentions and had asked Choso and Tsukumo to remain behind as his protectors. While Choso and Tsukumo are powerful fighters, Kenjaku shouldn’t be underestimated – he’s a seasoned sorcerer with centuries of experience. He’s seen countless powerful sorcerers come and go, and he’ll use everything he’s learned to defeat Tsukumo and Choso.
A Lot Is Riding On Itadori Yuji’s Shoulders
Itadori Must Save Gojo Satoru And Tsukimi
With Kenjaku occupied by Tengen, Itadori and his friends are in a race against time to stop the Culling Game from devastating the country. Yuta has already started looking for a solution, but Itadori and Megumi faced a delay. They needed to persuade Kinji Hakari to join their efforts, which proved incredibly difficult, as he strongly disliked Jujutsu High and wasn’t eager to cooperate. Fortunately, Kirara intervened and spoke with Hakari on their behalf. Once Hakari was on board, the team could finally move towards Tokyo. Hakari and Panda headed to colony 2 to find Hajime Kashimo, while Itadori and Megumi went to colony 1 to look for Higuruma.
Okay, Jujutsu Kaisen fans, a little bit of a wait! The next episode won’t be with us on February 19th as planned, but it will be here on February 25th. It’s a bit frustrating, I know, but the director is really hyping it up! He even said you could jump right into episode eight even if you’re new to the series, which is a bold statement! Honestly, it’s got everyone buzzing about what MAPPA has created, and I’m so excited to finally see it!
