I’ve been watching the incredible rise of Solo Leveling. It’s become a global phenomenon, and the anime adaptation really sparked its popularity. While Season 1 was a hit, Season 2 has taken things to a whole new level. A lot of that success seems to be driven by the latest arc, which takes place on Jeju Island – it’s really captured everyone’s attention.
While the battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King was a strong contender for the best anime fight of 2025, the recent ‘Ragnarok’ arc in Solo Leveling is even more impressive. Currently unfolding is the ‘S Rank Gate Raid,’ which feels like a revamped version of the Jeju Island Arc, but this time focusing on Jinwoo’s son, Sung Suho.
Solo Leveling Ragnarok’s S Rank Gate Raid Is Reminiscent of Jeju Island From The Original Solo Leveling
I’ve been following the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok manhwa closely, and the last year has been amazing, especially with the latest story arc. It recently went on break, but before that, we were seeing the start of something truly incredible – fans are calling it the S Rank Gate Raid, and it’s really taken the fandom by storm. It reminds a lot of people of the Jeju Island arc from the original Solo Leveling. Interestingly, Beru, who used to be the Ant King, chimed in about this new S-Gate appearing in South Korea. He explained that he used to be the boss of a similar gate himself, bringing up the Jeju Island incident where he was the main enemy.
The new series, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, cleverly echoed a famous moment from the original Solo Leveling. Fans will remember the powerful standoff between Sung Jinwoo and the Ant King. Chapter 64 of Ragnarok recreated this scene with Sung Suho and Thomas Andre. Although the series is currently paused, viewers are eagerly anticipating the continuation of this arc with a new artist, and expectations are very high for what’s to come.
Solo Leveling Ragnarok’s S Rank Gate Raid Improves Upon Jeju Island
Many fans love the Jeju Island arc in Solo Leveling, and the anime adaptation made it even more popular. But the current arc, ‘Ragnarok,’ might actually be surpassing it in quality.
The upcoming S Rank Gate Raid in Solo Leveling Ragnarok promises a compelling continuation of the story, bringing together previously established plot points and significantly developing Suho’s character. Expect thrilling battles with a more engaging group of characters. The raid will also showcase an intriguing rivalry between Sung Suho and Thomas Andre, a top-tier Hunter from the United States. This contrasts with the Jeju Island Raid, which had a more straightforward storyline, enhanced by political conflict with Japan.
The Original Solo Leveling Anime Will Have Better Arcs Surpassing The Jeju Island Arc
Even within the world of Solo Leveling, many fans don’t consider the Jeju Island arc to be the strongest part of the story. While it’s popular, especially with the recent anime, other arcs in Solo Leveling are considered even better and haven’t been adapted yet. Season 3 of the anime promises exciting storylines like the Double Dungeon arc, which will be interesting to see come to life. Future arcs will show Sung Jinwoo becoming even more powerful, battling memorable enemies, and uncovering more of the world’s mysteries.
The story will feature a major arc called the Monarchs War, which will finally reveal the powerful monarchs and showcase some of the most exciting battles and heartbreaking events in Solo Leveling. This arc is expected to be a turning point for Jinwoo’s character, and fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival.
