‘No Plans For Additional Story Content’ For Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Confirms

As a long-time fan of Spider-Man games, I’ve been eagerly waiting for new content since the release of Spider-Man 2 last year. The anticipation has been like swinging through New York City on a thread, hoping to find that next exciting adventure. However, it seems that Insomniac Games has decided to pull the plug on any additional story content for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

In a blog post about the upcoming release of Spider-Man 2 for PC on January 30th, Insomniac Games announced that while new players can enjoy all previously added content, there will be no further development of additional story content.

Shut Down

For over a year now, as an ardent Spider-Man 2 enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating news about the release of the long-awaited downloadable content from the brilliant minds at Insomniac Games.

That question was definitively answered recently by the developer.

Although we don’t currently have any extra storyline content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re thrilled to offer all our previously released post-launch content on the PC version, such as New Game+, new suits and color options, Photo Mode enhancements, and much more.

Afterward, it’s made clear that the story of Spider-Man 2 doesn’t conclude here, as there are plans for future collaborations involving costumes.

The initial Marvel’s Spider-Man game came out on PlayStation 4 in the year 2018, and it wasn’t long before a supplementary content pack titled ‘The City That Never Sleeps’ was added. Later on, Insomniac Games produced a spinoff called Spider-Man: Miles Morales. At this point, there’s no hint that similar additional content like this will be released for Spider-Man 2.

Lately, there are indications that Insomniac is focusing more on the creation of Wolverine, and it’s rumored that they might unveil a sneak peek or trailer for this project by the end of the current year.
