Even though Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a full-featured game with new Mega Evolutions and a revamped battle system, Pokemon Pokopia is already ahead in one key way. While Pokemon Pokopia is a spin-off title and wouldn’t normally be expected to compete with a main series game, recent information suggests its Pokedex will be larger than the one in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
A life simulation game set in the Pokemon universe feels like a perfect match, given how many relaxing and charming aspects are already part of the series. Pokemon Pokopia blends the popular gameplay of titles like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing with the Pokemon world, creating a new spin-off similar to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. The game focuses on building a welcoming town for Pokemon, but also emphasizes completing the Pokedex – and it looks like collecting Pokemon will be a bigger part of the experience than in Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Pokopia Officially Has a Bigger Pokedex than Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Okay, so a leak just hit, and it’s HUGE! Centro Leaks posted a screenshot on X showing the Pokedex entry for Espeon at number 284 in the new Pokemon Pokopia. But here’s the crazy part – Espeon is usually pretty early in the Pokedex, so that means there are at least 284 Pokemon in the game, and likely way more – probably over 300! Considering there are over 1,000 Pokemon total, that’s a really good amount to find and catch in the new game. I’m so hyped!

How Pokemon Pokopia’s Pokedex Compares to Legends Z-A’s
| Game | Base Game Pokedex | DLC Pokedex |
|---|---|---|
| Pokemon Legends: Z-A | 232 | 130 |
| Pokemon Pokopia | ~ 300 | Unknown |
Image via The Pokemon Company Currently, Pokemon Pokopia has 284 Pokemon available in the base game, which is more than the 130 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. With its DLC, Legends: Z-A increases its total to 362 Pokemon. While Legends: Z-A has more Pokemon overall when including the DLC, Pokopia might receive its own downloadable content to add even more. However, if you only consider the base games, Pokemon Pokopia launches with a larger Pokedex than Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Pokopia introduces brand new forms of familiar Pokemon, like Professor Tangrowth, Peakychu, and Mosslax – variations never before seen in any Pokemon game.

We’ve seen these Pokémon in official trailers and gameplay demos, confirming they’ll appear in Pokémon Pokopia. While this list doesn’t include every Pokémon in a specific evolutionary line, all evolutions are likely to be included in the game. So far, the list focuses heavily on Pokémon from the earlier generations, especially the Kanto region from the first games. It’s unclear if Pokémon from later generations will be featured as prominently, but the overall size of Pokémon Pokopia‘s Pokédex suggests the game will have a lot of content to explore at launch.
