Rainbow Six Siege Reveals Year 11 Roadmap

Ubisoft is getting ready to release the next season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, called Operation Silent Hunt. As hinted previously, the famous character Solid Snake will be a playable operator. 2025 also brought a major update to Rainbow Six Siege called Siege X, which revitalized the game after ten years and significantly increased the number of players.

Despite a recent comeback for the game, late 2025 and early 2026 were very difficult. Before the new year, Rainbow Six Siege was hit by a major hacking attack, forcing Ubisoft to take the game offline temporarily. Hackers spammed the in-game chat, gave away huge amounts of in-game currency, and made special, developer-only items available. Just a week later, another hack occurred, leading to some players being banned. Fortunately, Ubisoft resolved the issues and has since started to preview future updates for the game.

Rainbow Six Siege Crossing Over with Metal Gear Solid

In late January, Ubisoft hinted that Solid Snake would be coming to Rainbow Six Siege, but didn’t share many details. They then announced Operation Silent Hunt, launching on March 3rd, which will include lots of references and content from Metal Gear Solid for players to experience.

Solid Snake, the iconic character from the Metal Gear Solid series, joins the game as an attacker, and is voiced by his original actor, David Hayter. Snake’s key tools are the Soliton Radar MKIII and his On-Site Procurement ability. The Soliton Radar is a handheld scanner that reveals the layout of the current floor and highlights enemy positions. It uses a color-coded system: green indicates no threats, yellow shows active enemy cameras, and red signals the presence of one or more enemies. By using precision mode, the radar displays enemy locations and lines of sight, but this feature has limited uses and requires a cooldown, so it’s important to use it strategically.

Okay, so my ability as Snake is pretty cool. It’s called On-Site Procurement, and basically, when enemies go down, I can grab their utility pouches to restock my gadgets. What makes me different from other Operators is I can carry up to five different gadgets at once. So, I can scavenge for stuff and fill up any empty slots, which means I can really switch things up and be prepared for whatever happens during the match. It’s all about being adaptable!

Players will soon have access to new weapons, like Snake’s Tacit .45 pistol. For primary weapons, Solid Snake can use either the PMR90A2 marksman rifle or the F2 assault rifle. Plus, the F2 now supports grip attachments for even more customization.

Ubisoft is hinting at a special event inspired by Metal Gear. Currently known only as [REDACTED], this mode is exciting news for stealth game fans. It will let players team up Solid Snake with Sam Fisher (also known as Zero from Rainbow Six Siege). The event takes place on a reworked version of the Nighthaven Labs map, filled with nods to the Metal Gear series. As you’d expect, there will be a Collection series of outfits, letting Rainbow Six operators dress up as famous Metal Gear characters like Gray Fox and Meryl.

The upcoming Silent Hunt update for Rainbow Six Siege includes new Black Ice weapon skins, a 1v1 Arcade mode, and updated versions of the classic maps Coastline, Oregon, and Villa. After the update, the 6v6 Dual Front mode will be removed. Ubisoft is also planning a significant Operator Balancing update, with changes like making Skopos a faster operator (3-speed), increasing the stun duration of Ela’s Grzmot mines, giving Amaru’s grappling hook an extra use, and preventing shield operators from breaking fully reinforced barricades with a single hit. More adjustments are also planned.
