As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating treacherous terrains and battling formidable foes, I can confidently say that “Beginning of Misfortune” in Throne and Liberty is one of the most challenging quests I’ve encountered yet. The Ant Nest, hidden away from the other areas, presents a swarming horde of ants that can quickly overwhelm even the most experienced players.
In the game Throne and Liberty, there’s no shortage of locations to delve into, each brimming with its own set of side missions that gamers can undertake using the Codex. These missions become available once players trigger the Waystone of a specific area on their map. Most areas will show up on the map, but there’s one exception: the Ant Nest, which is tucked away from the others. This spot lies to the northeast of Vienta Village, just beneath the Raging Wilds icon on the map. It also includes a challenging quest known as “Beginning of Misfortune.
This region, known as the Ant Nest, is no laughing matter, teeming with countless ants that can amass rapidly, making them a formidable challenge for players. Despite the recommended level for venturing into the Ant Nest being 35 or higher, it’s advisable for players to be several levels beyond that for a smoother experience. The Beginning of Misfortune involves facing numerous powerful enemies in the Ant Nest, so having a strong offensive capability is crucial for survival. Here is all the essential information players need to conquer the Beginning of Misfortune.
How To Complete Beginning Of Misfortune
There are three objectives that players will have to complete for this quest:
- Collect a page from Collection: Expedition Records: Ant Nest
- Defeat Honeypot Ant
- Defeat Giant Acid Ant
While one of these is pretty simple to take down, the other two can be a little tricky.
Collect A Page From Collection: Expedition Records: Ant Nest
The location pin won’t show up on the map, but don’t worry, it’s not hard to find. You can find it right at the start, above the Food Storage area within the Ant Nest.
Upon venturing deeper into the Ant Hill, players may stumble upon several holes they could fall into. One of these pits contains an item known as a “Cryptic Letter,” which happens to be what you’re seeking. Engage with it to retrieve it and thus fulfill your current task.
Honeypot Ant Location
This section of the game proves particularly challenging since players have a hard time locating and defeating the elusive Honeypot Ant. The difficulty lies in the fact that there are no markers on the map or any hints to guide them towards the ant’s nest.
In various spots, a Honeypot Ant might emerge. Particularly in the southern region of the Ant Hill, it appears to be quite promising to discover one. Keep an eye out for large, radiant eggs; these are the telltale sign of the Honeypot Ant.
To bring out the Honeypot Ant from its egg, players must successfully overcome the smaller ants that are guarding it. However, it’s important to note that these ants can become quite aggressive and may attack in large numbers, as previously mentioned. To avoid being overrun, players should constantly keep moving so they don’t find themselves cornered or surrounded by the swarm of ants.
Using any
powerful AoE attacks
will help a lot in taking these smaller ants out.
Fortunately, when the Honeypot Ant arrives, it isn’t particularly challenging for players. All they have to do is use their most powerful strikes against it, and it will succumb easily.
Defeat Giant Acid Ant
In my gaming adventure, spotting those colossal Acid Ants is a breeze thanks to the handy icons on my mini-map. They’re swarming all over the place, so finding them shouldn’t pose much of a challenge!
Improvement: They slide smoothly when struck by powerful blows – but beware, smaller foes lurk near the Giant Acid Ant. If players aren’t careful, they might easily find themselves surrounded.
