In the main hall of the house in Resident Evil 7, you’ll find a statue with a shotgun in a small room on the south side. If you take that shotgun, the door will lock, trapping you. This is a nod to a puzzle in the original Resident Evil – you need to swap the working shotgun with a broken one. You can find the broken shotgun locked behind a door requiring the Scorpion Key, which is located in Grandma’s Room in the second-floor Recreation Room.

Step 1 – Get the Scorpion Key

However, if you’d prefer to have it for the fight with Jack Baker, you’ll need to go back to the Recreation Room. Once there, use the Scorpion Key to unlock Grandma’s Room and search it thoroughly.
