Enthusiasts of FromSoftware were taken aback as they learned about The Duskbloods, an exclusive game for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, being developed by the studio, during today’s Nintendo Direct. The trailer evoked swift comparisons to FromSoftware’s PlayStation exclusive, Bloodborne.

The Switch 2 Isn’t Getting Bloodborne, So They Got Their Own Version in The Duskbloods

In the third-party partners showcase, it was FromSoftware and The Duskbloods who were granted the closing spot – a choice well-justified. The trailer’s opening, with its characteristic gloomy, gothic atmosphere reminiscent of Bloodborne games, stirred excitement among fans. When the FromSoftware emblem emerged, many believed an unexpected event had transpired.

In the trailer, we got a peek at various environments and foes we’ll encounter, along with some high-tech equipment such as a steam-powered jetpack and twin submachine guns. While viewing, it seemed that the character could call upon either an NPC ally or another player in co-op mode, though the specifics remain undisclosed. To top it off, viewers were introduced to The Duskbloods as the title and were treated to a glimpse of a unique creature – a large rat-bird hybrid adorned with mysterious symbols.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited about the lineup revealed at the latest Direct! However, while some of the games were slated for release on the rumored Switch 2 by June 5th, the trailer for Duskbloods only hinted at a broader release window in 2026.
